The controller should not be at a constant 26.6v, especially after an overnight cool down. Contact Rob.

Yup! Unfortunately we're on summer race break. Next one is buttonwillow in October. The great thing is that a bullet connector can be pulled and the system is back to 1x battery mode. With the Aux charger this means super charge mode for the track. Awesome that it's so easy to "configure".

Can you elaborate? Really interested in this but told myself once I install OFH(last weekend)I too would go on a buying freeze out.
It's the only purpose of the aux charge faster recharging between pulls? Any negatives to it? Cost? I'm thinking it wouldn't be needed for daily driving, just more of a track item.....sorry for my noobness I have read entire thread and have been following all updates for months but feel like i missed something

No worries, the forum is here for sharing.

The aux charger is still in testing and pricing or release date hasn't been announced yet by Rob. The Aux charger effectively doubles the charging rate of the batteries. For daily driving this compensates the charging speed degradation effect of the 1.5x battery upgrade. It allows you to drive aggressively while not having to worry much about waiting for the batteries to recharge. Because track driving can be the most demanding, having the fastest recharge possible is the ideal scenario for constant power availability. By disconnecting one of the bullet connectors to the 1/2 batteries, you essentially downgrade the system's power to the original batteries (1x configuration) but as a result get faster recharge on those original batteries (because of the aux charger). A little less power but more availability. Obviously it depends on the track whether or not this is desirable. If you only use it on the straights and there is enough charge time between straights then I'd keep the 1.5 configuration. For a more aggressive track I would definitely opt for more recharge and a little less power.

Also to piggy back on @nlowell comments I will be getting the aux charger and giving my feedback on how it functions. It will probably show up sometime next week.

I'm a DD and I'll try to give a review via that guise.

I was under the impression that the aux charger either through charging or motor control; distributed the work load which reduced system overheating.

Wow! Thanks for spelling it out guys. I'd probably be fine with regular 1.5 kit I never track.
Indexing that the aux charger charges faster yet keeps temps lower.....
aux charger is a separate piece in addition the controller, yes?

EDIT: sure enough, took her in and had a decent amount of toe-in on the front driver side. Those things don't just happen, so I wonder if my wife had a run-in with a curb or something she didn't want to share. The weirdest part is that I'm lowered enough that I can't imagine hitting a curb without damaging anything else, unless maybe the wheel was turned and only the tire hit something. I suppose it could have just been natural slip too, but I feel like I would have caught it over time.

My luck with other people this month is going to turn me into one of those super protective types... When it rains it pours I guess.

Nasty enough pothole could do the job.

just an update on my low voltage recharging issue.
Rob thinks that it's a blown fuse in the controller and will be sending me a new one to replace the blown one.

With that said, I would like to comment that Rob has great customer service, definitely will continue to buy new supporting mods in the future from phantom and if anyone is wondering about the ESC, it's AWESOME^_^.. cant wait for the e85 tune from shiv <--- he's got great customer service also hence why I bought all my bolt-ons from the openflash website.

Keep up the good work guys, you've earned yourself a long term customer.

300 pages of post? Daaaaaaaaaaamn

I just wanted to be part of the 300th page. Reminds me of my current cars birthday just the other week, which also happened to turn 300. Here's a pic...

Can't wait until next year for my 86. Can't even wait for the ESC for my current ride! I feel so confident in the product and the support behind it
