Testing a Continental ST Spec Scion FRS

Video from a while back testing the Scion FRS ST spec race car. The car handles like a dream and we were able to get times comparable to front runners pace. The car was prepped by Rebel Rock Racing and I was doing some development for them.

Sadly this car was never raced in conti. The test was last year and they decided to go with the cayman instead.

Yes. I was following the development of this car and then it just disappeared. I posted on the Rebel Rock Racing Facebook page asking about it but the question was ignored. What happened to the car after they stopped development on it?

You are the Ernie Francis Jr. that is currently campaigning the MX-5 in Pirelli World Challenge TCA. Is that correct?

I remember reading that the twins would be in Conti now but I have yet to see any.

They are eligible (obviously). If I ever win the lottery, you'll see a privateer.

I asked Rebel Rock team about this during the Roar Before 24. The answer I received was reliability problems with the engine when making power needed to compete at the front.

Not sure who I talked to from the team, unsure of how informed that person was.

In this class, I'm fairly sure they have to run stock or just strengthened stock OEM gearboxes

I guessed that to be the reason but I believe that there are now FT86 cars racing with good success. Some are even competing for 24 hours and winning in Europe. Maybe they are not tuned to the extent of the ST cars but they certainly should be able to do the Pirelli World Challenge TC class where they only run for about 40 minutes twice per weekend. I wonder if that chassis is for sale.
