What are the symptoms of your leaking head gasket?
Just very minor leaking. It is not enough to really show on the dip stick or in the radiator. I have to mixing of the two just a little external leaking.

I've had a similar issue on a different car. I didn't realise I'd dropped a paper towel used for mopping up oil spills when changing the filter and a day later it had travelled down the floor pan and was sitting under the exhaust - very pleased it didn't catch fire. Hope that is the solution.

Interestingly enough, the smoke has been more intermittent and as of late sometimes just resulting in a smell being present but no actual smoke. With that being said, after driving home lastnight, the white smoke was present and I was able to see traces of oil leaking onto the bottom of the exhaust manifold heat shield. Car will be going to the dealership sometime next week.

According to dealership, oil leak is coming from timing cover.

Makes sense since the smoke is coming from the bottom passenger side of the engine, above the exhaust manifold.

So what did they do to correct the issue?

As it turns out, leak was due to an o-ring part of the dipstick assembly went bad. Go figure.

What are the odds?

In your case - 100%

Yeah, service rep laughed when I returned to the dealership. I intentionally drove the 10 minute drive to the dealership hard.

He sees my car and says, "looks like it's still smoking huh?"

lol. Thankfully, no major hassle. Service rep at Toyota of South Florida, Larry, was awesome.
