opinions on these wheels

http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/4555564599.html

this guy is going back to stock and he is selling the rims and tires. I love the meaty look of these, and he said he is only on megan lowering springs. But I have searched and searched through the 90 page thread about these wheels, but I cant figure out what info I need. So will this set up cause any damage or rub issues? I know nothing about tire size and how that all works. The tire size he said are 225/40/18 So what do you guys think about these?

Well first thing is that he is lying about wheel, tire, and spring price.

Megan springs are about $130 on ebay new

And those XXR rims are about $600 new for 4 in that size from tirecrazy.com. Maybe $50 or so more if I am wrong.

So unless he paid $2200 for those tires and some installation, which would grossly over inflated since 4 of those tires new on Ebay is less $300, he is a scammer.

Most people get those rims in 17x8.25 et+35 or 18x8.75 et+35 with tires up to 245 wide with no rubbing issues with lowering springs.

yeah he said I could get all tires and rims for 700. But when I asked about damage, he said 2 have some curb rash and sent a picture. So I am going to offer like 550 if this is even a decent and worth while set up.

Lots of people like them as you can see in the XXR wheel thread. I plan to get a set myself. I just think 9.75 is a bit too wide for stock fenders, and the fact that he is saying they are worth 3k with tires and springs in the car for sale ad is shady.

I paid $650 shipped for my XXR 527s (same wheels as he has) @ 18x8.75. There's no way he paid over $2000, cheap wheels, cheap tires, cheap springs. I'm guessing the trio cost him <= $1400.
