I second this. I was running a catless front pipe on the stock muffler for a good couple months, and it really brought out a subtle rumble/growl as well as better throttle response for not much moola

I would keep your existing exhaust and get a set of header and that will provide you with more performance and sound. It will sound good because you have a great quality exhaust that is not raspy and obnoxiously loud.

That being said, I'm still lookig for that deeper and lower growl in my car. I have read that adding a catless front pipe would help wake the Q300 up a bit, how much louder would it be and would there be any rasp?

Another alternative would to just get a different catback for around the same price range. I love the deep tone of the N1 but I'm scared it might be too loud and I don't want drone. Would putting the silencers on the N1 remove drone and a bit of sound while preserving the tone?

Thank you for any responses, I'm a total newbie and I just want my car to sound good

I just swapped front pipe to tomei catless from berk high flow catted front pipe as I said it to be done. Well, the result is not a big difference at all in the cabin to be honest with you.
I believe it is still quieter than n1 only.
So i listed exhaust combination in the order of loudness per my personal experience.

1. OP+Catless FP+N1(raspy)
2. OP+HFC FP+N1(not raspy)
3. N1 only
4. OP+catless FP+Q300
5. OP+HFC FP+Q300

Is that tomei you installed have a resonator or just straight pipe? I've got the Q300 by itself right now and I really can only hear it from about idle to 3000, i've got a catless resonated invidia on the way...you think it'll be a little more audible then?

Mine is catless. Tomei only makes catless front pipe. I really dont know if resonated one would make it louder becuz i never had one or seen one yet in real life. I dont rely on video clip at all.

Yea so far, the Q300 is much quieter than I had anticipated and growing less sure adding a frontpipe is going to give me the sound I was looking for.

I basically wanted it just loud enough where I could enjoy it from inside the car but without it droning.

I just installed Open Flash Header and got to say it's barely louder than stock. Rest of exhaust is still stock. Was sold on Q300 for looks/sound but now thinking it may be too quiet.
Maybe I'm just dead coming from Honda scene and Camaros before that

I would say it will wake q300 up little but it will still be quiet. I dont know if its only me, but since I swap cbe to q300, i dont really hear it in cabin. Oh and no drone or rasp at all even with catless front pipe.

Yeah there is just enough exhaust smell with catless header. Really don't want to delete second cat. Wonder how loud Berk muffler delete would be with OFH.....

If you want a really deep growl but keep the Q300, i suggest you get the RevWorks UEL header; it sounds amazing!

Im currently running the RevWorks UEL, stock OP, Invidia resonated FP and Invidia N1 Catback. it drones a bit but i love it!

With muffler delet, it will be super loud.
My friend had only muffler delete with everything stock, but it was way louder than my n1 set up.

Add OP and HFC front pipe if you want to keep second cat.
