I feel safer with at least going with Rota...at least there are many others using Rota, so they are somewhat reliable for the most part. But totally no name brands I'm a bit scurred of.

I like these wheels and can get past the moral dilemma of buying copies since these wheels are old as shit.

I really need to see how these look on a GBS BRZ before i make my decision. Choosing wheels to go with this color isn't as easy to me it seems.

Seeing pics of these wheels on any color twin, or on any twin period, isn't going to happen and is super rare lol. The only pics of a twin with them in the world (besides the too big 18" high offset ones..those do not count lol) is this red one.

Any updates on this?

Maybe @WheelDude.com?

See previous posts, they said they'll only have availability for crazy low offsets. Basically, no luck.

I'm interested but It doesn't look like its happening... Why did they choose to make it in 18s? it looks worse the bigger the rim size.

Please take this from someone who has been HEAVILY researching these wheels the past couple of months.

These wheels in the sizes shown above on the red GT86 will come out to ~$3300 shipped to your door in the US. They weigh damn near 21lbs in 16" and are not forged. I'm sure that they use the same cast methods as other reputable Japanese wheel makers (Work, SSR, etc.) but the fact is that they're selling for 'forged prices'. Sizing choices are what you'd expect from a 5x100 bolt pattern.

I pulled the trigger on my first set of TE37s (RTs) this year and I can tell you that for LESS THAN OR EQUAL to $3300 you can get forged, lightweight (17lbs) wheels and maybe even save near $1k if they pop up on the forums. This isn't my first set of 'real' wheels either...just my first set of Volks

My point: Nothing beats buying the real McCoy but in the RS Watanabe case the high weight and shipping (only from AUS or JPN) is a deal-killer unless you have a hookup. If you want the look...and I can't believe I'm saying this...Rota isn't a bad alternative.

Anyone else want to try to revive this?

I emailed @WheelDude.com how to go about ordering a set of either Rota RKR or RB in 17x9 5x100. They said it would need to be special ordered and a minimum of 3 sets would need to be ordered.
