+1 on what malt said, the template is generally only needed for logging, if you dont update the template file the logged parameters may not display correctly on the oft, if your just flashing roms and dont log you can probably get away with not updating the template file

You can try either Stage 1 or Stage 2 EL (assuming you still have stock header). It's really a unknown based upon what kind of intake you have what what kind of MAF misreadings it induces (if any).

Make sure to manually update the template file after the OFM update.
An OF Manager update doesn't not require an template update as the two serve different purposes. A template update is only required after we add more datalog channels or more functions to the OFT itself. In that case, the template update ads the necessary text/language data. In the case of an OF Manager update, none of this applies

Cheers,
Shiv

If everything is stock, Stage 2 will run too rich. But in the case cited above, the car already has a bunch of other exhaust mods which will reduce enough restrictions which may make Stage 2 work better than Stage 1.

Oh yes,
I mean with drop in filter, silicone inlet, OP, catless front pipe and catback. So I should use stg 2 better than stg 1 right?

Question

Alright, potentially a stupid question but I want to cover my arse...

I'll be installing my freshly delivered OpenFlash Header tomorrow () and will subsequently be updating to a Stage 2 UEL tune.

I've connected my OFT to my laptop and it downloaded the updates, and I upgraded the Template file.

Do I need to do anything else? I'll be running full exhaust (OFH, all the rest is Perrin w/catted and resonated front pipe, etc.). I will probably do a drop-in filter, as well.

Is the tune on the tablet at this point sufficient or do I need to download something else? I poked around on the site and found the tune downloads but I didn't do that for Stage 1.

Thanks in advance for any help received!
