I don't always run alternative fuel, but when I do ... I prefer Propel E85.

For 91 I use Shell or 76. Chevron has consistently given me the crickets.

I really want an OFT. Even with just 91 I think I would enjoy it.

Really? Gotta give Shell a try.

Seems like my crickets became a little louder with 76 compared to Chevron.

Propel E85 here

When I filled up on 91 I got crickets no matter which brand I filled up with.

However, doing this reduced it by 80%

the OFT Stage 1 tune is pretty good. I had to switch back to 91 for the track day because there's no E85 readily available and I didn't feel like hauling 10-15 gallons of it in jugs with me. Had a blast at the track but ran a mix of 100oct to be on the safe side. But I will probably switch back to E85 when my low fuel light turns on again.

Yes, I've tried all the name brand gas (except E85 - not tuned for it), and the FR-S is just quiet with Shell.

Also, even with Shell, after a hard drive, the crickets will return during idle to cool things off but quickly dissipates once the engine has cooled or restarted.

These crickets are just a pain, so you can live with them or try different propositions to minimize them. Either way, they are here.

Good to know. tbh, I never really cared about the crickets. It's like a conversation piece in a way

Did you see any mpg difference between brands?

The car just wouldn't have the same character without them.
