New wheels or suspension first?
For those who got their wheels, did you get suspension done before, with, or after new wheels?

Suspension, then wheels.
In close succession if you can afford it. Don't forget a good alignment so you don't ruin your new tires.

suspension before wheels always.
now if you're talking about getting cheap Taiwanese suspension then do wheels first because that will delay you ruining the ride and handling of the car

I don't want to cheap out, so for both suspension and wheels I'm probably going to budget around 5.5k? I don't have much knowledge on coils, but I'm told KW V3s are a good reliable choice. Got my eyes on a set of ADVAN TCIIIs as well. What suspension setup are you running? |

Don't forget to factor tires, mounting/balancing, and alignment into that number. I had my TPMS transferred from my stock wheels over to my new wheels, so my numbers may be a bit high, but here's how it panned out for me...
Suspension: $1900 (RS*R Sports-i) Wheels: $1400 (WedsSport SA-10r) Tires: $1100 (Michelin PSS 255/35/18) Alignment: $100 Total: $4500 $5,500 should be plenty, assuming you install the suspension yourself, and depending on the deals you get on tires/wheels and whatever suspension you choose.

factory suspension is good enough to drastically exceed the capabilities of the stock tires.

Me? I'm stock, I'm more into track right now. Don't want to go down the suspension rabbit hole for a while.

I did suspension first because I thought I wanted to keep the factory wheels. That didn't last long...

Get some lighter wheels 17" and a good not to harsh tire (PSS), and realize the stock suspension is excellent when you actually drive the car. Too many people confuse good handling with a slammed feel... and looks...

suspension first since lowering the car will obviously change your clearance for wheels/tires. So once its lower, you can get a better idea of what size/offset wheels and tires would be good.
