so long as the user is self policing in ensuring that the wheel doesn't rub against the body under full compression then this is a very good approach for a coilover
but from what I understand a double threaded body like that that is also strong and corrosion resistant is $$$.. hence why we don't see too much of it also since it's 100% tunable there is no dummy switch in there to stop idiots from going too low and then slicing their tires during a corner.

The problem with the 86 is the rear suspension travel.
