DG-5 Coilover
Not much info out on these yet. DG-5 is or was Keiichi's brand. It seems DG-5 doesn't have a website anymore and these are being co-produced by HPI Japan. This is all the info I could dig up. You can see from the pics that they use Swift springs.
Hibino uses these on the UpGarage / Droo-P d1gp 86. http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/03/...he_build_pt_1/ http://image.rakuten.co.jp/rim/cabin...mg67025251.jpg http://power-hpi.sakura.ne.jp/sblo_f.../023-adbb4.JPG http://power-hpi.sblo.jp/article/56889368.html http://item.rakuten.co.jp/rim/dg-5-suspensionmagic-46/ Installed: http://power-hpi.sakura.ne.jp/sblo_f.../013-f48ad.JPG http://cdn.speedhunters.com/wp-conte...3/AY0F9677.jpg |
Interesting choice having them thread through the bottom where as most others have a hard stop there. Looks like it'll allow for a longer stroke, and easier bottom adjustability for rebound/etc. But does the tube going that low start to have other impacts with the wheels/suspension?
Here is an image, look how close it is to the arms: http://cdn.speedhunters.com/wp-conte...3/AY0F9741.jpg |
Does anyone have an update on these please?
I run these in my NSX and by far one of the best i've ever experienced. Also, seems like Tsuchiya is adopting the GT86 and growing fond of it. I'm shocked DG-5s for the 86 aren't out yet. Must be a business malfunction :( |
japanese?

^^ if this guys likes em they gotta be awesome!! :D Very interesting design, honestly never heard of em but I'm not near the car suspension but as most you guys. |
Omg. I wanted a set for my s14 back when they first introduced them.
The successor to Kei Office Coilovers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
interesting. always wanted a set of these since way back in the day when I had a 350z
|
I know nothing of their history what are the highlights of these that set them apart from current offerings folks?
|
Are those project mu stainless steel brake lines? Nice setup!

I run these on my NSX now. It's what Tsuchiya runs in his NSX-R and it's what Spoon sells in their Spoon Spec NSX.
Best street/track suspension for the NSX i've ever used and is a simply single adjustable. They really did a lot of R&D on this for the NSX platform. I just don't know if they did a lot of R&D for the 86 platform. Some say on the S13 they were overrated but who can you believe on the internet these days... |
