Huron River Dr between M14/Main St and North Territorial. N Territorial over to Dixboro isn't bad itself. They're not amazing roads, but they're local to me and Jeremy Clarkson drove part of that stretch of Huron River Dr on Top Gear when he reviewed the Ford GT.

Fuel Gauge

I guess I am too lazy to look around the forums but I will just talk about it here.

I believe our fuel gauges are not very accurate and or have some issues with them.
I run my Torque app to monitor my levels and this is why I think the gauges are wrong.

When the app says the car has about 65% Fuel, The needle is way below the middle.
When I fill up all the way, the needle goes past Full and when I turn off the car it is way below the Empty.

Yesterday, because of the high fuel price now I drove with almost empty. However, my gas light turned on way before the red mark on the gauge. The app says I had about 15% fuel or 60-80 mile range. I chickened out and went to get gas at 4.39 a gallon.

Anyways, I have a theory that the torque app puts the reserve tank/fuel into its calculation of how much gas is in the tank. I am about 90% sure about it.
But really, I just want to know if anyone else gets annoyed how possibly inaccurate the gas gauge is?

Most cars I've known will show the fuel warning lamp on when you have 50-75 miles of cruising left, so that's normal.

But I have experienced some inconsistencies in the gauge once it's just about empty. I've been driving with it well into the red on E, and made to the station just fine, but then I ran the car out of gas doing doughnuts at the hockey rink after hours with the gauge showing well 'above the red'.

All I know is I autocross the car beween 1/4 and 1/8 tank...just before the fuel light comes on.

Be careful running the car very low on fuel though, as the gauge does read inconsistent that low.

Black wheels? That's a local autocross guy, I think he lives in Ann Arbor.

Agreed! I'm in Dearborn & it sucks in every direction. The best "local" roads I have found are out west of Ann Arbor through the Pinckney & Waterloo state recreation areas.

Here's a pretty good Ann Arbor to Jackson route covering a few of my favorite sections out that way:

That said, as much as I love my BRZ, I've covered more miles out there on the motorcycle than the twin.

Ugh, noticed a new rock chip on the hood today. What makes this one different is that it hit hard enough to go all the way through to the metal. Ordered a Dr Colorchip touchup kit to take care of it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't match perfectly. I just don't want to leave metal uncovered.

I know there are a ton out there already but if anyone is interested, I'll write up a short review when it comes in and I use it. Got some chips on the plastic bumper to touch up too.

Floor jack

So home Depot had a good sale on husky 2.5 ton low profile floor jack and 3 ton jack stand combos. Since I wanted four stands and a set of stands was the same price as the combo on sale, I just bought two. Long story short I've got an extra jack up for grabs if anyone can use it.
