$800 is my number. I have a friend that does awesome work and I still have an active account with a large distributor to pick up audio for cheap. Anything more and I feel custom is the way to go for me.

Yes, any of the OEM+ standard or reference series units for the FRS are compatible with all of the Scion OEM head units, and aftermarket head units. However, since the sonic parameters in the DSP unit is matched to each of the head unit audio characters, for best results, it should be shipped/will called back to OEM+ for re-flash of the DSP assembly.

It does function fine though in any combination of head units as long as it is running off the original vehicle wiring harness at the head unit. The re-flash is only suggested if you are an audiophile that can discern the difference of subtle sonic elements like staging and timing.
