OEM Audio Plus Reference 400CF (BRZ)

Sold. Mods please delete. Thanks

Hello everyone I am selling my OEM Audio Plus Reference 400CF system that I had in my BRZ for 3 months. This system was definitely one of the mods that I enjoyed the most on my car. The reason I am selling it is because I am trading in my BRZ soon for something with 4 doors (more practical for my kids). Price lowered to $900 shipped in the ConUS.

I am not sure if it is compatible with FRS head units. I will look into it though. Thanks

This is the response they gave me when I asked them:
If I purchased a used system from an FR-S, would I be able to use it in my BRZ?
@ericmpena, from an installation stand point; all the steps would be the same. What you'll need that wouldn't come with the used kit is a new Fuse Holder Assembly and to send your amplifiers in to our lab for reconfiguration for your radio (we want to ensure your experience the O+ signature sound specific for your BRZ).

Be sure to PM or call us for any additional questions.

Hmm? I wonder why you would need a new fuse holder assembly? There was nothing wrong with it when I removed it off the car. And so does this mean the wiring harness plug thats goes into the headunit is the same for both BRZ/FR-S?

I have no idea. I passed on the other OEM's for sell because they were configured for an FR-S....and I'd prefer not having to send it to the mfg just to get something simple configured. Here's the OEM thread. Maybe there's more information floating around in there.

Lowered price to $1000 shipped. It looks like it will be best to sell to someone who has a BRZ because the amps are configured for the BRZ headunit.

Is the tuning balanced, full or robust?

Thanks for the reply. I am looking for balanced.

ericmpena 06-23-2014 02:32 PM

Boo. Most of the systems I see are robust. I'm looking for balanced as well. I wonder how hard it is for OEM Audio to reconfigure it. That should really be something that the buyer should be able to configure on their own. Oh well...

Interesting...

I haven't heard the other configuration setups so I just randomly picked robust when I bought it and I think it sounded great.

I imagine robust sounds great for hip hop music, but I listen to a lot of Latin and salsa music which focus more on the vocals, horns, piano...not so much bass. I'm sure it still sound great, but I prefer less of a bassy sound and more clear highs and mids.
There's a local around me with this system installed. Hopefully I can meet up with him and get an idea of how good this system really sounds and if it's worth a grand.
