I was debating which color BOV/WG to go with but in the end told JDL I didn't care. I got the super bling chrome silver ones. Kinda wishing I had gone with black or blue now. What spring did your WG come with? My box says it has a 6PSI spring but I don't think that's stiff enough for our cars, most have had issues with low springs with the BOV staying open during idle causing the car to idle rough.

My wastegate spring is rated at 7 psi That's the amount of pressure it will take for the actuator to open and bypass exhaust from the turbine, so it's not really a matter of not being stiff enough. It really depends on how much boost you want to run unless you get a boost controller.
What you need to worry about is the BOV spring, since those are ratted according to the amount of vacuum your engine will pull when the throttle is completely shut. A spring not properly rated for you car could lead to the BOV being partially open when it should not. My BOV has a yellow spring(11 psi) which Tial rates at -20 to -21 inHg. According to my boost gauge my motor pulls 20 inches so I'm right there. Disclaimer: I could be off but that is my understanding of the system works. Last edited by Ryan P; 06-24-2014 at 12:52 PM. My BOV box says 6PSI on it, but I haven't actually cracked the BOV open to see what spring is in there. I had planned on using the 11PSI spring as well.
