Are the pads the same from the 2009 WRX to the 2011 WRX. I have a set of Hawk HPS pads that I didn't use yet for the 2009. Now that I'm trading it in, I was thinking of selling them. If they fit though, I'll probably keep them. Can you confirm if it will fit?

For a street car? I use the Stoptech Street Performance pads on my car and they are a great street pad for the money. Ferodo DS2500 are probably my favorite "aggressive" street pad that can take a little beating. The stock pads were actually okay.

Super interesting. WRX brakes (at least the older ones) do not inspire confidence on any level (it's really more the pedal feel...) .... might just wait for the STI + brembos for that reason alone. Even my WRX I upgraded to the Brembos ;p

No one who has reviewed the car that I can remember reading complained about the brakes. You definately will not want to just slap on STI calipers.

Would it be too much to ask if RCE measured the front and rear piston sizes?

I have DS2500 pads on my WRX. As any higher performance pad, they dust a whole lot.

I don't really care about dust, but the stoptechs were prety dust free and also quiet. They just didn't seem taht much better than stock as far as stopping power on the STI. No idea though how stock STI pads compare to WRX or BRZ stock pads.

What about EBC brakes? I used yellow but the cold bite didn't feel very confidence inspiring. Warm they were great and firm but cold felt meh so I didn't like it for daily driving. I'm looking for something more streetable for the FRSBRZ. Any recommendations here?
As for dust, I had a lot but didn't mind. Car wash brush + daytona speed brush + less than 10 minutes = nice clean wheels ![]()

If you want to try the EBCs I personally like the Green Stuff. They were not sufficient on the STi but worked great on my lighter FC, and various 3 series. I would probably put them between the stoptechs and the ferodos for performance with significantly less and kinder dust
