OEM Brakes, not as standard Subaru as I had hoped..
So in prep for a track day I was hoping to do within days/a week of getting the car (assuming timing worked out) I had started to research brake pads for the car. Sadly, the only matching part number is the front rotors. They are WRX front rotors.
Not that I care about the rotors specifically, but I first checked the pads. They don't match an existing Subaru, no big deal, compound differences would mean a different part number, but the caliper is what's more important. Unfortunately, the calipers also don't match any existing Subaru part numbers. I PMd some Toyota guys on here just in case they are Toyota parts but from what we know right now we may have to wait a bit for pad upgrades for the car ![]() I have contacted Carbotech about it to see if they can pull the info from Scion/Subaru and make some pads for me in advance. Otherwise, I'll throw my car up on the lift and leave it for a few days and ship my pads to them so they can find the matching pad, or create new pads for the cars.

All the part numbers that I can see are all Subaru, which means there isn't an easy way to find out if there are any shared vehicle applications (on the Toyota side at least).

One of the Toyota guys replied, they are Subaru PNs in the Toyota system, so no go on them being Toyota parts. I haven't heard back from Carbotech yet but I doubt they'll have info yet. No pads listed on tirerack or online that I could find to cross reference part numbers with either. Hopefully the rear rotors will become common on something else so replacements with be cheap

Didn't the Toyota-side shop and info manuals go live? I would think there might be a breakdown of the pad shapes front/rear there.

Don't sweat it guys. There are lots of little things that could change and necessitate a part number change. Piston sizes on the caliper, pad compound, etc....we weren't expecting these things to stay the same.
The important thing is the pad shape and I'm fairly certain that's the same as WRX. I will double check our notes. - Andrew |

Also on that note....the brake bias on this car is soooo damn good (for a Subaru especially) and it stays pretty darn flat under hard braking. Really impressed with that.
Which naturally means that a lot of aftermarket BBK's are gonna seriously ruin the braking on this car in my opinion. - drew |
