21 months of ownership and still average 30-33 on my manual. I take the highway/freeway with an average speed of 65-70 mph in the morning and take the back roads on my home going 55-60 with a lot more stop and go traffic.

6MT. 1500 miles on mine, the dash is telling me 32mpg average.
My commute is 75% freeway and 25% city I use Costco 91 octane. Pretty fuel efficient for what it is. |

I followed the Owner's Manual exactly as stated.
-No revs over 4k for the first 1k miles -I also stayed below 60mph as well (dealership advice) -No hard braking or WOT The last 500 miles I've been driving it like I drove my old Civic Si, which is pretty aggressively. I make a lot of unnecessary high speed turns, which my tires let me know they don't appreciate. |

Don't forget to reset the avg MPG once in a while (hold the button down) so it will reflect the most accurate readings.
I use 91 octane, 70% highway, driving conservatively with the occasional bursts of speed (merging). I get about 300 miles per fill up. 30.2 on the monitor. I have a K&N drop in filter. |

I finally got a tank of almost all highway the other day. Clocked in at 29.3 MPG but that's with me going 85 MPH almost the entire way (unless some clown was owning the left lane and made me slow down). I also have 245 width, super sticky tires which doesn't help at all.

My 6 speed manual is getting 18.9 at the moment. Then again, I just got it, and have been driving like an asshole almost the entire time. Its still the dealerships gas, so I dont feel too guilty about it :-p

On road trips where I drive more fuel consciously I will get 35-38 mpg. Daily driving to and from work, errands, etc. I drive more aggressively and get about 25 mpg according to the dash. My calculations at the pump tell me that the dash reads about 1-2 mpg higher than actual fuel economy. I am driving a manual with oem subaru oil and stock wheels and tires.
