I'm not going to talk bad but id like to get a point across;
If you're on a budget like that you need to seriously consider the true cost of a turbo. Possible grenaded engine, transmission, broken cv's, you will NEED tires if you're still on stock ones. Anything over 300whp and you need fuel injectors, pump, map sensor, clutch (act is about 600$ and considered a great deal), a good tune, gauges (2-300 $ PER gauge), more frequent oil changes (8 quarts of 13 $ a qt oil adds up) etc. There's a lot more to it than just a 4, 000 $ sbd, or even a 6, 000 $ fbm kit. Between ecutek and dyno time you can spend almost 2, 000 $

fi kits for the twins are popping up everywhere. I would do some research now but not totally make up my mind until I was a little closer to pulling the trigger

Factor in cost of ecutek license and tune as well

Not every tune is that much but ecutek is really the best option and racerom is EXTREMELY beneficial with a turbo its saved my motor several times already when you wire a wideband o2 into it. I think its 800 $ for ecutek racerom plus a few hours at your preffered tuner.
Just an example:
I really want coilovers. I have enough money in my "car budget" to buy them now. BUT I dont because if my car budget is at 0 $ and I grenade a cv shaft or the transmission or have another fuel system problem, or my now perfectly running car decides suddenly that the summer is actually too hot and now I need an oil cooler and bigger radiator what do I do? Just an example.

I see. I suppose once you get a turbo u need a little reserve money incase something happens. Yeah i think i might hold off on the turbo for a while until i can TRUELY afford it.
