Bro I guess it all comes down to personal preference right? But I gotta agree with u when it comes to the hatch it would be hella sexy!!!

If you looking for just a bit more power, there is the safe and fairly cheap FI setup in the ESC. Gobs of low end torque decent top end power. Super easy to install. Might be worth a look.

Very true thanks for ur input! But I hear the frs handles better but the sti has that real sports car feel

An 86 is a drivers car, the wrx no matter how sporty is still a sports sedan. The brz is lightweight, nimble, certain turbo kits exemplify the cars lack of power without upsetting much of the car's balance. I haven't driven the new wrx but I'd be hard pressed to say you feel the road more in the 2015 wrx more than the brz.

A turbo brz will have room to grow power wise, anywhere from 260ish whp to built motor limits E85 and a buttload of boost. While that may be applicable to the wrx as well, the compression in this motor helps with response in non boost acceleration.

Not to mention the brz looks amazing.
The wrx looks like a corolla with quad exhaust.

I got $$$$ to either trade in or turbo my brz/frs. The thing with the frs/brz is its gonna be my daily and very concerned on heating issues with this vehicle on boost! On top of that u would probably end up spending more money on a reliable boosted frs than just purchasing a wrx..

Define $$$$. There are reliable ways to boost this motor. It's helpful to read some of the stickies, and search about cooling fixes. There's loads of threads.

The wrx probably costs more to insure, so either buy the wrx and spend more on insurance or turbo your frs and add lil' trinkets every so often. A lot of ppl can't really shake the modding bug...

Well said man but to be honest my ideal "divers car" would probably need a bit luxury interior wise and a bit of features.. yes hands down brz is drop dead sexy and handles extremely well but I honestly think a driver will feel more comfortable in a wrx

I'm not gonna say the exact figures lol but I can go on fbm and purchase their stage 1 premium package.. and never really thought about insurance! And thanks for the suggestion but I spend numerous hours here and still read about people having heating issues or blown engines

Then you should also realise that a vented hood, upgraded radiator and oil cooler will make you set. Most of the cooling temps are issues on the track. Ask @King Tut about his FBM kit and his cooling setup.

Other things like an AOS or larger oil pan is not nessecary, but helpful.

Another thing, there was a mighty car mod video about painting your intercooler black which lead to lower temps at a standstill.

Many insurance companies don't go by HP numbers but by engine displacement. Now that the WRX uses a 2.0L FA20DIT I wouldn't be surprised if the BRZ is more expensive to insure since it has two doors. Hell, when I was cross-shopping the 2013 BRZ and WRX hatch the BRZ was already a few bucks more per year. But, as with all things insurance YMMV.

OP, unless you feel comfortable dealing with the hassle of FI on a motor not designed for boost I would just go with a boosted car from the factory.

The pros for the BRZ for me are the seating position and overall sports car feel. The (stock) WRX was faster, no question, but the BRZ feels fast all the time whereas the WRX only felt fast when I was driving fast. Only you can decide which is worth more to you.
