Revolutions Performance GTX Turbo Kits (RP400) Knocking on the door of 11's

Hi everyone,

We've been busy prepping the shop/dev car for the track. Our goal is to get the car in the 10's on the stock engine. With that being said we did a few upgrades to the car.

We took the base recirculated RP400 kit and installed a new 6 puck ACT clutch, ID1000cc injectors, 4 bar map sensor, Grimmspeed Boost Control Solenoid and a Denso fuel pump to support e85.

The engine is still 100% stock, the factory exhaust is still in place (overpipe to muffler) and we ran the car on M&H drag radials.

We were able to extract 409.9 WHP/334.2 FTLBS from the GTX2867 with just 16 psi on E85. We chose that as a good, safe level to do our first round of testing at the track. We plan to upgrade the exhaust and turn the boost up all the way in the future in our quest for 10's.

We took the car out to our local drag strip, Bandimere Speedway, for the IDRC Drag race event. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with us and we only got one run all day. On that run the driver bogged the launch a bit, resulting in a slower than optimal 2.0 60ft. Additionally, we tried to get the car to rev out 4th, rather than shifting to 5th. It was close but it was on the limiter in 4th as we crossed the traps which will slightly lower the trap speed. We were looking forward to fixing those issues on the next pass when the rain started. Check out the time slip and videos below. We are in the right lane.
We hate to make excuses so we want to get the car back to the track as soon as possible to run the times it is capable of. We expect to be able to do at least a 1.7-1.8 60 ft and traps around 121 mph which should put us well into the 11's at a mile above sea level. We tried to go to the other local track last Friday but it was closed. I will update this thread with new time slips and videos as soon as we reach our goals.

What size / brand tyres are they?

Held bloody well considering their size and 400hp.

Raise the launch limiter, ease out the clutch (instead of dumping) and the car should go around 11.50's

If the launch limiter is raised and the car has traction issues, the driver might need to do a proper 2nd gear burnout to heat the drag radials rather than the 1st gear "clean" used on that run.

Interested to see the results you guys achieve, my track here in South Africa is at the same elevation, its a different ball game

Good advice.

I agree the launch limiter is too low.

I bought some slicks for it so we will see what it does next time. Probably in a few weeks. I'm also going to setup the anti lag to add some boost off the line.
