I feel like I'm getting screwed every time I go to the dealer. Did the 30k mile service and its basically a oil change and a 55 point bs inspection. I highly doubt they even look at half the stuff when they are checking. It was 180 bucks and they did a coolant test and a bunch of visual inspections plus and alignment check....and I declined the battery service which would have been another 40 bucks...

Speak of....they said they recommended a drive shaft service...basically tightening and greasing the driveshaft....anyone ever heard if that crap? It was 26 bucks.

Oh and of course they recommended a air and cabin filter change....they said both were dirty....funny when I checked in the morning they were fine ..... I just had both of those replaced last service visit.

Lastly the recommended a brake service...deglaze the pads and grease the brakes? 90 bucks and that doesn't actually replace anything.....

May I recommend doing everything yourself? I've learned while working for a rental car company a lot of dealers are out there to screw you since the service writers work by commission.

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

Car drove awesome to vegas from San Diego.

Unfortunately I got pulled over.

Now you would think I got pulled over going really crazy fast right?

Nope, I was on the backside of a group of 4 going 80 mph in the car pool lane and the cop decides to pull me over.

****.

Speed limit was 70. And I was going slower then the rest of the group.

Also the regular lanes were going faster then the group.

For that price you coulda done an Amsoil oil change + Motul diff fluid swap DIY. Never go to the stealership for service.

This car is the easiest car I've had for oil changes. I even skipped the free first service. But I buy all the oil/filters at the dealer for the records.

In next thurs for the tail light, so the phantom will come out again.

don't you love how easy it easy.

Holy man is this thing down on power though....it feels like I'm crawling...Toyota seinnas are passing me when I'm trying to merge.

I can't believe how much the phantom transforms the car now that I'm back to stock.

might not think 40hp is much but in a car this light it is a dramatic difference.

Because you are. Over the years I've owned about 20 new cars and have racked up over 1,000,000 miles. My cars have NEVER gone back to the dealership (except two that had maintenance included). I've done everything from oil changes to changing main bearings. I'm the only mechanic that does work to my satisfaction. I started with a basic mechanics tool set from Sears and built from there. Now I have an assembly of tools that professionals envy.

It takes time, patience, and the acceptance of mistakes; but you can become your favorite mechanic.

only problem is I don't really have any space for stuff like that where I live. I think next time I will tell them to just remove all the fluff. Honestly there is no reason to test the coolant at 30k...or the battery and alternator...

sorry to hear about that. On plane back from Vegas to Miami. Saw some amazing roads around the Hoover dam that would amazing to carve up in my 86.
Had a rental elantra not in my name and a crying baby in car so I decided to booze and not drive.

Those roads are pretty amazing. I used to drift them in my 7. There's a few other good ones out near there as well (the road to willow beach, for example).

A couple of times, in the last 6 months, I have forgotten to arm the system, and stomped on the gas pedal. It was like I had two of the spark plugs dis-abled! You really forget how the car ran before the Phantom system. I can't say the hp/torque difference, but it is like night/day, and driving a totally different car... even in my old beater Camry V-6.

I admire you guys for working this system, and doing all the tuning reflashes... My car just takes the system and adapts itself! I've gotten off so easy, its a stupid simple upgrade for an old OBD1 car.

Hey y'all. I'm almost done with the installation but struggling with the airbox resonator removal. How did you all do that?
