After seeing this, I'm glad I live in Miami. Cops here don't care too much about modifications unless you're driving stupid then you'll definitely get pulled over. I've had the JDM TOM's for months now and I doubt any cop is going to be looking for any DOT stamp on the equipment.

I would think it would matter for inspections and more importantly if you are in an accident. Cars have to have sidemarkers of sorts for visibility, and if you lack it, depending on how the accident went down, it could be argued against you. Similar to getting rear ended with tinted tail lights.

In this pic they are 8000k HIDpowerhouse HID kit.
I installed Winjet later(with different size bulb), so I have two high quality 8000k bulbs for sell if you r interested. All u need is a pair of ballasts.

OP's in Cali, and there are at least 3 others in this thread with TOMs on their cars in Cali, and one's even the same color. This would be enough of a reason for me to not get the Toms.
That and I think you're getting expensive OEM replacements. They just look to similar to OEM for me.
But all this inspection talk makes me happy I live in a county that DOES NOT inspect anything, ever. I don't even have emissions checks. Every county around me does, but not mine. Kinda nice.

USDM spec turn signals light up red. JDM spec turn signals are amber.
