Anyone changed the CAI? I saw in some Youtube videos that changing to a Perrin CAI took out the crickets. However not confirmed if it showed up later.

Not related - the crickets come from the high pressure fuel pump and are generally associated with ethanol concentration in the gasoline.

This part has nothing to do with the crickets. It certainly does get loud when the car goes 4k+ RPM though. Crickets are at idle.

Just don't let the car idle. Always go go go! LOL

I had this crazy issue with my BRZ, they ended up having to replace the ECM in the car. Pretty sure it was a one-off issue, though. According to the main Subaru engineer that flew out to the dealer my car was at, he came out to check out the issue in person because they never saw anything similar to the problem I was having.

Otherwise, the car is running perfectly.

Hate to tell you, man, those smiles are likely permanent. I hear the only cure is to hate fun.

2500 miles on my 2014 SWP BRZ Limited. Nothing major thus far. Crickets depending on the fuel, and a slightly rough idle. However, my wife's 2012 Legacy, as well as my mom's 2013 Legacy and Crosstrek all have the same slightly rough idle, all four different engines. Boxers just idle rough, or maybe something in the fuel around here, who knows? I just try not to idle for to long. Also it seems to attract A LOT of attention.

I've had my car for exactly 3 week as of today, Monday (June 16th) so far so good. I've put 1,260 miles on it already, washed my car about 6 times already(sits under a tree, at home and work). No tail light issues. I loving my car, also I have a great dealership according to my boss who bought 2 cars from there(Autoland rt.22 NJ)

I'm at 17K in a period of 11 months. The car is amazing. I drove it straight through the Boston Winter. Car is fine in the snow.

I had the most recent fuel pump revision replacement under warranty. My only Mods are mud flaps.

Mechanically the car is flawless.

So far so good, but only had the car for 3 months now.

Actually, the "infotainment" system or whatever it's called is a huge piece of s***

Trying to use it with Bluetooth from my phone or even a USB drive it's always freezing up, not responding to inputs or even not seeing music on my phone/drive at all. It's the worst system I've ever used.

I don't know if that's a warranty issue or not.

Having started this thread, I thought I better give an update...

Had the car six months now and some idling issue early on, but has been fine since. The paintwork scratches so easily, so watch out for that. No mechanical issues at all. The sound system is crap, unfortunately, so find something else if you can. Had a Golf GTI and Civic SI before this, but this is a better car , but for other reasons...love it. No mods...only some cosmetic stuff, with some taillights in the mail.

Want to take it to the track eventually, but that will not happen until late summer now. The local airport has been mentioned as a place to try the handling, so I might go for that...suggested by a cop, believe it or not 😁
