The most common area for any engine to leak oil is the area where TCC, Head, and block meet. With the differences in the metal expansion/retraction due to heat the sealant used will eventually crack. The crack will allow small amounts of oil to leak. There really isn't a good fix for it once it starts other than removing the TCC and cleaning the intersection well. Reapply sealant and allow it to cure fully.

Add me to the list as well mine is on the passenger side. Took it to a toyota dealer they said they are not sure where it's coming from and told me I have to take it to a scion dealership. I am waiting to get an appointment to take it in.

No. That is roughness from the casting process when they make the block, it's not worth the OEM's time to prep every block so it looks pretty. Some examples: http://www.mitsu-media.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=14522 http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/fo...et-Part-2.html |

Let me know if anyone makes it to the dealership before me what they find out. I'm not looking to have an engine fire from an oil leak. I have seen to many people say it's just a little oil and then a few weeks later post a picture of a ball of flames because a small leak turned into a big leak.

I'm curious about this as well I just hit 41k and I've been having a burning smell come through the vents a lot lately. Will be doing a thorough inspection of the engine bay.

I noticed a leak in the same location on my car while inspecting it recently. Car has 22k miles on it ( 8k boosted ). Bought 5/31/2012. Can't do much about it for now. Will keep an eye on it and my oil levels for the near future.
