glad to see your enjoying the BPB
![]() I will hopefully be putting these on my car soon! I like to hear that it helps mellow out that ditch in the torque curve. Do you have any plans to dyno your car? either before or after you get the OFT? |

@mid_life_crisis as the blocks change the VE into the engine, having a freer flowing intake won't really make much difference. Also, the stock intake isn't much of a restriction anyway.
@Corradooo the car will idle differently for the 1st 30/40 seconds after a reset, that always happens as the ECU recalibrates and adjusts the cams.

Crawford power blocks install and first test.
I just went for a quick spin and took my first passenger along for a ride. Her response "it feels different! Faster earlier, and MUCH smoother. The power doesn't just kick in, it's always there."
I def agree. I was shifting anywhere from 3k-redline to get a feel for it and even when just cruising, there's still power when you hit the pedal. I slid a few turns and flipped a couple of sideways uturns and the car kept the wheels spinning longer with the throttle pressed less in and less of a need to slam it giving me a longer range to continue the power making a smoother transition. Power pretty much everywhere. These things are really awesome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So what exactly do those gears do? Lengthen the 1st and 2nd gears? What effect does that have on 0-60 or top end?

Probably only affects top speed in 1st and 2nd gear. If you look at the graph they posted, you should top out in those gears sooner. But it'll keep you in the meat of the powerband. Not sure if it's related, but I always noticed that the shift timing from 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 vary. My friends said the same thing about their twins. The 1+2 gear swap will probably improve low end acceleration, and top speed won't be affected unless you change the final drive. |

This especially sensible with their shorter final drive (otherwise 1st and 2nd would be very short). But this is not the point I wanted to make. I just wanted to show a graph which shows the rpm drop when you shift (stock gearing). And when you look at the power graph you see at what power you are when you shift at a certain rpm and drop to a certain rpm. (And you'll notice that you have more power at 7500 rpm than after the shift, despite the significant fall off.) |

Gotcha. I could only see the second pic, the first wasn't displaying. I still shift at redline to get me higher in the midrange through each gear after shifting when really pushing the car anyway, but when cruising or just going around town I shift much much lower, and the blocks still give me a feeling of power with much less TQ dip than before. It feels great.

OFT + BPB
With all the parts you have on the car and BPB, if you had a tune with our dedicated map for the bpb you will notice a great overall improvement in performance.

Really wish I could pick one up now, been looking into it for a while and I def think it's time, but just lost my job last week, don't start my new job till the 16, and probably won't get a first check for a couple weeks, so hopefully I can have one in a few weeks. I plan on doing some reviews with the different tunes and I also have a stock BRZ to compare everything to. I really can't wait. Wish I could have the OFT right now! No problem. You got priorities to take care of first. We will still be here to assist you when you are ready.
The OFT will be a great compliment to the mods you already have. Since you have a stock BRZ to compare it to. Once you get the tablet installed on your car you should be able to get a good idea on how it compares to stock. ![]() Quote:

So I was wondering if tuning is mandatory with the BPB, or if a these can still be beneficial without a tune.
Obviously the tune should extract the full potential of these, but will they still add AUC without the tune? |
