I saw a few pages ago that there was talk of a firmware update that would resize the app partition potentially. Is this the case? Any solution to get more app space?

Thanks!

EDIT: I was able to install via side loading. Another question I have... is there a known way to replace the CaFi home screen? If not, is there a way to reprogram what app the GPS button & "CarNavi" GUI button open? Also, when I push the Radio button when I'm in another app, it typically switches to the next "mode" (e.g., FM1 -> FM2 -> FM3 -> AM1...). Any way to disable this? I just want to push radio & switch stations.
I too don't like how the Radio button changes to the next preset list even when in another app. The solution for me was, originally, to slide the top bar down and select radio that way, but now that I have LMT launcher installed I use that for just about everything, including switching between radio and other apps, it's so fluid to swipe from the bottom and up in whatever direction your desired app is in the pie. Another thing with the Radio is it's the only app I found that isn't affected by Viper EQ (Pandora and Poweramp work great with it), I think I may have found a solution to it that involves changing something in the build.prop (something about low power audio), I'll update once I try it out.

Oh! and one more update, about Pandora crashes. I cleared the cache, data, and reinstalled Pandora, after which I think I realized what makes Pandora crash. If you install Pandora and move it to the external SD it will start to crash, if you move it back to internal it will still crash. You need a clean install of Pandora and NEVER move it from the internal storage, if it does start crashing a lot, clear the cache and data and reinstall if necessary. Pandora has been cooperating much better since.

Except the HD radio connector...had some trouble with the bezel going in all the way, the bottom right corner sticks out some.

That's what I thought. No biggie since the unit seems to be working all fine minus the USB problem. I sent them a email. Hopefully I don't have to ship it back to China..Shipping isn't cheap lol. Yeah USB seemed rather easy, but it wasn't working so I figured I'd ask here. All of you guys are very informative!

Once rooted, you'll need a text editor. I recommend Build.prop editor from the same developers as BusyBox. Once you have installed BPE, open the app, then edit the following lines:

– “lpa.decode=true” to “lpa.decode=false”
– “tunnel.decode=true” to “tunnel.decode=false”
– “lpa.use-stagefright=true” to “lpa.use-stagefright=false”

Once done, save the changes and restart your headunit.

These will unlock the full potential of the Android audio decoder by disabling the powersaving mode since it doesn't make sense on a car headunit.

I contacted the manufacturer with this issue and they suggested a factory reset. I've done it and it didn't fix my issue, but they said it's known to fix other problems with the unit. Just throwing that out there in case anyone else has had issues

I went into the build.prop to change those lines, but they weren't there, I added them and put them as false but nothing changed. I realize that the Radio's built in EQ still works, so that's probably blocking Viper somehow (kinda like Poweramp did before turning it off in the settings), it's ok though, since every other app works with Viper; Slacker, Pandora, TuneIn, Poweramp, so the radio I can live with using the regular EQ.

Question for everyone else, has anyone gotten their google contacts to sync? Particularly with Google Now (Google Search), when I try and call someone it asks to say the contact name, but can't find any, and if I try and choose manually I can open the contacts app and there are none listed. Even though contacts are checked as synced in settings. Also, google now doesn't seem to find any apps in Tablet search, just contacts and "apps" but I can't choose specific apps I want it to search in, like I can on my phone. Any help with this would be appreciated, I'd like to use voice search in poweramp and the like. Oh and I tried using another app like contacts+ to sync my google account contacts, but it can't find them either.

Has anyone yet tested if an external USB Sound Card is working?

Does the device have USB On-the-go?

??????
USB on the go is to connect full size USB to micro USB. What are you trying to accomplish?

Got my unit yesterday. 2 weeks went by before they shipped it out. I guess they have many orders. Anyways, got everything installed thanks to Shifter and others for their posts in this thread. Helped alot.

My question/problem:

I read there was an update out and I was unable to find it on their site, so I found it here. How do I know my unit isnt updated already since it was shipped out after the update came out?
Heres a pic of what mine is running:

Also, yesterday I paired my phone with the device thru bluetooth and the music played fine. Today I turn it on and its skipping. I tried restarting the app, as well as restarting the unit (not resetting). Any ideas?

I try to only use Bluetooth for calls and run everything off the headunit-I mean that's the whole point right? That being said I have been streaming audible the last two days from phone with no issues. perhaps you have interference. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi both use same spectrum so perhaps they are colliding-like I said not an issue on my install....btw I have phone mounted right next to had unit so reception is optimal

Idk. I did have WiFi on on the unit but it wasn't connected to anything. Just played music off the ad card without any issues so its possibly my phone is not liking it. I do recall similar skipping on another after market unit in someone else's car.. so it can be my phones problem.

I'd recommend just using a USB drive or something similar for music. Nothing's wrong with the unit for it to be skipping like that, it's the phone signal. There's probably interference somehow. That happened with me on my old unit as well. New unit, same phone, same problem.

Also I'm completely wire illiterate. How do we hook up that amp wire to the stock harness? I try pushing it in but it doesn't fit lol. Can anyone take a picture of what it looks like?
