They started putting in LED street lights in Seattle, and the way it changes how a block feels at night is striking. A lot of people hate it. It provides a beam of clarity yes, but the color palate change from orangeish warm to that whitish light makes you feel like you're in a hospital. Shot below with both types. The orangeish sodium vapor lights seem natural. That IS the correct color palate in nature. There is no white light like seen in LEDs and HIDs in nature. It really changes how neighborhoods feel at night, and I think for the worse, but that's my opinion. ![]()

However what matters is lumen output and visibility that good HIDs provide. In certain areas HIDs can be a matter of safety. Granted the recent halogen projectors I've seen have been decent, but I also have poor night vision and a good set of HIDs (around 4300K) helps even more. I could care less about the color. Sure the look exterior look of the lights is subjective, I do think the BRZs are nicer, but the light output isn't. |

86'd is right. HIDs being better headlights is not an opinion, they offer better visibility, therefore they are the better headlight.
Most people that use HIDs love em. First time Ive ever heard of someone who prefers the dull, off-color, tinge of old school units. |

850 is too much especially for a unit that relies on a phone

So if you are traveling cross country you are screwed.
I drove from nyc to Utah once, and cell phone coverage Sprint was pretty bad. Also had wife's iPhone as well as EVO 4G and both were unreliable . I was glad I had the gps on my car. |

I dont get all the hoopla of WHY a HU needs to have smartphone connectivity.....
you drive, you look at the screen for nav instructions and maybe navigate your mp3's and that's it..... why would u need apps and junk on a car? This generation of electronic doodads for cars is truly ridiculous...... |
