Do/would you 1/4 race?
Just as the title says, do/would you?
If so, what have you done to it or what are you gonna put it in? For people who has done it; any good results? is it worth it? did you have fun?

No I don't. These cars are not that fast in a straight line without a whole lot of mods. If I was going to buy a car to drag race, I'd get an older camaro or mustang and put a huge V8 in it.

I've taken it to the 1/4 track a few times. Its more fun than just sitting in a parking lot. We don't have any road courses near here and $10 for a night full of racing is a good experience.
Of course, my times were horrible, but I snapped a few wins anyways. 2013 V6 Charger, 2000 GT Mustang, SRT4 Neon. Nothing to brag about but like I said, I had fun.

I'd suggest bracket racing with the twins. I haven't dragged in many years (since I had my GTO) but if I go FI I may try my hand at it again. I do live 20 minutes from Budd's Creek afterall.

Haven't but I may one day just for fun to see what I can run. Used to drag race my SRT-4 all the time but haven't got around to getting slicks for it to put down some decent times.

I have not and will not do the 1/4 mile in this car.
I have and will continue to do track days/road courses. |

I've done a bunch of track days with this car. Love it. That said, I wouldn't mind taking it to a drag strip someday if I have time. It's not fast, but I'd want to see if I could get a mid 14s pass out of it.

I'm not a good driver either though. I mean my best time was a 15.1. So maybe they were even worse haha The Charger even had a CAI / Tune on it lol

lol a lot of knuckle heads don't know what the heck they're doing out there. I remember one time in my SRT I lost to a 4 door Nissan Altima that ran like 18 seconds. I must have ever so slightly rolled through the lines and caught a red light and I just sat there for like 10 seconds because I didn't know why my light was red and then just said F it and took off. Ended up running a 23.xx at 114 lol. |

I think everyone is aware the twins are not really known for being a straight line car. But if you've never been to a dragstrip, it's fun to try it at least once.

1/4 mile run is good for data points on mods....I don't care about the drag racing aspect of it (it's frankly boring) but rather am more interested in the technical information you get on the printout and the weight scale at the track. I've yet to go in the FRS though; the one time I planned on going with some friends they were closed because of 'the weather'. Drag racers are a bunch of pansies when it comes to weather... "Oh a cloud in the sky that's not bright white! Close the track, Close the track!!! But then again High horsepower, terrible handling machines that are mostly automatics is a recipe for disaster. Much different than roadcourses... "Oh it's raining...Y'all be safe and go have fun!"

I mainly track and auto-x but have done ¼ mile drags in the hopes of improving auto-x times. It was tremendously helpful for testing best launch technique. It directly translated into ½ sec. auto-x improvement the next day as measured against my WRX Sti friend who wondered why I was suddenly beating him on every run. Definitely recommended plus it's a treat to see some of the worked cars perform and didn't get the car messy since there was no need for the bleach box. ;-}

I went last weekend just to see how the car compared to others with bolt-ons. Drag isn't that fun in a slow car, not my thing to start with. 14.7@ 93mph w/ 2.1 60'. I was hoping for lower 14's. Still don't have a tune yet so thats my biggest handicap. DA was 2800 I think.
