A quick comment to everyone in this thread..
Stop trying to convert currencies.. Sure you could buy it direct from England and have it shipped here and pay that much. But, products are priced differently in different places. I think we've already had a vendor say that the price is around $4700 US. Still expensive perhaps.. but not over $6k like people are assuming based on the cost in the UK.

I'll bet the US prices are different

does MAP performance have prices up for what they're going to charge?

However, at the same time. Cosworth is based out of the uk right? And...the euro is actually valued higher than the u.s dollar. So, in theory the price in the US SHOULD be higher than the uk price.

What the hell does the euro have to do with the UK?

You guys could just PM MAPerformance for a price instead of speculating... They've posted multiple times in this thread saying so.

Thermostat is interesting since it goes counter to the sentiment for street driving temps, considering how well tested and thought out the kit should be.

It is interesting to keep seeing people saying that somehow all of those Cosworth new stuff for the fa20 is somehow all going to be fully backed and covered by Toyota and Subaru. Can the next person who posts this link or include some actual proof of this? Perhaps an official statement from Toyota/Subaru? Until I see that it's well.... Bullshit...

Really?? Customers can either buy cars straight from Brabus or send in their Mercedes to be customized and/or overhauled. They will even buy the car and modify it to your specifications. I'm sure when companies operate at this scale they warranty their own work. How is this at all like a bolt-on package from Cosworth? They are at a different level. Toyota or Subaru isn't going to warranty any of this and why would they? They didn't build it. I can see Cosworth maybe getting approval to provide upgrade packages in some niche markets but if I buy an off the shelf stage 1, I doubt I could stroll into any dealership and ask for warranty work on my Nameless exhaust and Ecutek tune.

A mechanic in the UK Makes anywhere from 50-80k pounds a year which is $83k-$134k US, A mechanic in the US gets paid from anywhere of 50-80k depending on skill set and tenure. what I was trying to say is that the GT86 is priced at what the value of their money is to their own economy. its priced at 24,595 British pounds while the FRS is priced at 24,595 USD.

You are so far off it's not even funny. Perhaps the head crew chief for a professional motors ports team makes that kind of money. Regular auto mechanics make £15-20k. The highest paid mechanics (elevator engineers) make £25-40k. Both professions make more in the US.

Check the UK national career service. I travel to London for work a dozen or so times a year. Most normal folks there drive tiny underpowered hatchbacks and sedans. Any kind of new sports car is pure luxury there.
