The main resonator is the one attached to the filter housing to the left. To be precise, it helps at around 3k rpm. All he said about the sound tube is that it does affect performance, I'm sure we all know by now that it's not a huge difference. However, this is in line with their testing of the whole intake system in a variety of configurations, his sentiments was that the OEM designers had done a very good job. some may get changed/replaced/removed when they do their FI but as that's not been fully tested yet they aren't sure.

Type approval is something they are keen to get, TUV and CARB etc.

These setups saw hours of engine dyno running and then 10k miles of road testing to prove that these are good for production and do what they say. The next stage kits will have a minimum of 900 hours spent in development. This in a way justifies the costs a little, and the idea is that the stage 1 packages will support you all the way to stage 3 and nothing is in the kits that has no performance benefit.

What a effing joke! $6000+ for Bolton's and a tune?! Cosworth is damn proud. Proud.

Openflash gets to Cosworth 1.3 in like $1500 lol.

These guys need to pull their heads outta their asses. Complete rip. You really have to be a name brand whore to actually spend $6k for this shit.

hang on a moment you're looking at the UK prices and applying a straight currency conversion

I'll bet the US prices are different

does MAP performance have prices up for what they're going to charge?

But does it? High quality HFC is half of that cost already, the rest of the stage 1 will support the stage 3 performance, how many cheap exhausts do that? Plus ECUtek maps and cable add cost, but they do this to provide different maps for different fuels via map switching. Tunes have had hours of road and engine dyno testing.... You're looking at over a day solid on the engine dyno. Who else can say that except the manufacturer?

This won't be for everyone, but it will be a good start if you're intending to go with their FI offering.

I agree. It is a little pricey. But I think about it this way. I've already spent.

JDL UEL, FP with resonator and HFC, and OP: $1800
HKS Legamax Sport exhaust: $1700
ECUTEK cable and tune: ~$1000

That's $4500 right there. Could I go cheaper? Absolutely, but I believe these to be high end parts and so is what Cosworth and Nameless put out. So the extra ~$1000 isn't too crazy to me. Some of that money going to the name? Sure! But I would gladly wear a Cosworth badge on my car. They have a rich and successful racing heritage and have produced some of the most legendary race engines.

We have probably put in over a hundred hours of tuning time on the dyno over the last year. Just saying

So you've had a car/engine running on a dyno for 24 hours solid without a break?

What Cosworth does is not tuning but engineering, that is why it costs more, but at least it holds your waranty and is approved, like Brabus does for Mercedes.

This might be noteworthy for me they CONFIRM warranty support. So far it seems like only speculation.

I'm not sure they can support manufacturing warranty for anything other than their own product. Especially when you start re-progamming the ECU and removing cats.

And to add to your point, that's what TRD and STI is for.

I'm gonna go and say this: we call people ricers/ posers for cheaping out on parts which make their cars worse but I'm starting to feel that people who throw tons of money at cars and only get marginal gains are just as bad. "Upgrading" parts so you can show off all the brand names you've collected but your car only performs slightly better than oem is... rice. I know cosworth's history and R&D but this is a bit ridiculous. Nice stickers btw.
