I am not certain about using the LEDs as DRLs, because I had the dealership turn off the DRLs long before installing the 10 Series headlamps. The lights are controlled entirely by the stalk on the steering column. The only time the LEDs or HIDs turn on is when I turn the stalk 1 click and 2 clicks respectively.

Sounds like 10 series headlights would have to remove the parking + on the FRS body side and replace with a custom wire from the DRL + up to both headlights where the white wire (LED Strip) is to achieve DRL functionality, but lose parking led light.

Anyone found a way to wire up the 6 pin 10 series headlights for full functionality + the DRL? Simply rewiring the 6 pins will not give drl functionality, but instead it will function like the JDM 86 where they have no drls. As seen as in this video

As far as I know: JDM = 6 pin no drl, LEDs turn on with Lowbeam HID (LED pin = weaker led wire available)
USDM = 6 pin with DRL, LEDS do not turn on with Lowbeam HID (LED pin = stronger led wire available)
Europe Spec = 7 pin with DRL, LEDS also turn on with lowbeam (Has both LED pins thus the 7 pins instead of 6)

I just picked up a set of 10 series lights. I previously had the dealer turn the daytime running lights off with techstream also.

Am I correct in that the LED strip is the daytime light and comes on when you put the lights up one click. When you turn the headlights on the LED strip turns off?

The led strip will stay on with one click (parking mode) and two clicks (low beam). The led strip will not function as a true drl. Make sure you unplug the drl resistor when installing the lights. You got it disabled but best to be safe than sorry. Can fry your new headlights.

Is it easier to get a set of 10 series lights from the dealer now? Have not checked on it recently.

Online it is. Dealers might be too since monograms have them as well. Still pricey I think

Just the LEDs will turn on with one click, but they will stay on with the HIDs when you turn the stalk two clicks.

I had no issues purchasing 10 Series lights from the local Toyota dealer. I walked up to the parts counter, gave them the part numbers (SU003-04630 & SU003-04631), and they placed an order. At the time, there were none in the US, so I had to wait a few weeks, but as soon as they arrived, I got them with no questions asked.

They aren't cheap, but they are OEM HIDs, so that's to be expected. Winjets were not around when I made the decision, but even in hindsight, I'm glad I bought the factory units versus the replicas.

It's not on there bro. The 12v wire coming from the DRL resistor goes to the white wire coming from the headlight assy

So the standard 6 pin harness doesn't physically fit into the 8 pin harness size-wise at all - I'm confused about how re-pinning it will work? Wouldn't you have to also buy an 8 pin harness? Sorry if I'm just having a dense moment here.
