$25/month ... I spend more $ on starbucks, because
each venti chai w/soy is like $5 plus here.

Good point. That oughtta be a Scion option, it would be a hit. :happy0180:

Its tough to say either is 'better' than one another, but id argue that Subaru is better than Scion, and make my decision from there.

I still don't see why Scion can justify their pricing compared to the BRZ Premium. I guess HIDS and GPS navigation are really only $1315.

If you think about it, there is no other sports car out there with HIDS and GPS navigation for $26,245.

I just hope that the FR-S is way lighter. We have not seen the official curb weight yet.

But I can see what Scion is trying to do, have the cheapest of the 3 AS1 cars...if you look at it that way, it works.

To some people HIDs and Nav won't be worth $1300. I'm just worried that the Scion is still too expensive. I would've felt better if the Scion was a lot cheaper and maybe didn't have an LSD standard and made some other things optional. I just wonder whether people will be willing to spend 25k on a Scion. I don't think sales will be great at that price. I don't want to start another flame war but it would make more sense to me if they sold it as a Toyota with different trim levels, or if they wanted to make it a Scion have it be totally base and maybe 22k instead of 25.

This is why I didn't vote, because I've been Subaru all along. I wonder how many of those votes were from BRZ people. It should only be for people who were initially considering the FR-S over the BRZ.

For me, the extra $3,300 from the FR-S to the BRZ Limited is justified. If you break down the options and what it would cost to add these things later (some of which I wouldn't even try to add, like leather/alcantara seats and keyless access) it makes plenty of sense. Those people who don't need any of the extras will be happy with the FR-S. Stock-for-stock, your car will be a hair faster because it weighs less!

I put my money down on a scion and I'm sticking with it. Nav is pointless since I have an iOS device. I'll get updates faster and already have it in my car for music.

HIDs I'll do aftermarket. The rest is just fluff to me. I'm just bouncing off the walls waiting for the car. Can has be having it meow?

thanks for clarification. in that case you are paying more for getting more. i'd have to see the cost of individual options to see which would be the better value.

Well we forget this is not a Civic Si (which is $23,345 with the summer tires) but something much more special. The FR-S just needs more equipment to seem like a good deal. It seems rather stripped for $25k. The BRZ premium is priced perfect and seems like a good deal.

For me it's tough because I want what the BRZ limited has, not what the Premium has. I want the leather/alcantara, the auto HVAC, and the push button (not necessary but would like it.) I'd take the HIDs but idk if I require them, and I certainly don't need the Nav. I'm still wishing we could get it as a Toyota so we could have those options instead of the Scion crap interior they are giving us but o well. I'm not buying for a couple years anyways so we will see how they handle all of this.

can some one help me out over here, what are the main differences in the limited slip differential when it come to the base FR-S and the Premium BRZ?

is that something to look at in the price differences?

you have a good point here, Scion in a sustain way a cheap version of a toyota and than yet is being sold as a toyota price tag.
Another thing to consider is resell value of a scion?? I am 100% the BRZ will hold its resell value way highes than the FR-S:
-limited production
-its a original brand name not a (cheaper version of the original brand name)

those two reason are why I am still trying to get my hand in a BRZ instead

There isn't a difference. All of them have the same diff. Mechanically all three versions we will have in the US are identical.
