FRS vs BRZ pricing. Are you In or out?
Now that both cars' official prices have been released....
FR-S Pricing Thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4328 BRZ Pricing Thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4755 Me, I'm staying with the FR-S because fanboyism and favoritism and pride with Toyota. Never thought once about getting the BRZ over the FR-S! |
No reason to not go for the BRZ now, Better interior all around, better head lights.
Much easier to swap front bumper then interior and headlights. |
umm...you will have to swap headlights, otherwise the bumper wont fit..

I don't really think it matters, they are the same car with different options. HIDs at autozone/o'rilley is only like $200 for the pair and navi can be argued down. I personally don't like the jersey cloth of the mid-range interior, but different strokes for different folks.
|
For sure BRZ seems like it's a better deal with the HIDs, an better stereo. I still do like the FR-S looks better though.
|
Yes, I think the BRZ is a better value. Doesn't mean I'd buy one, but I do think it's a better value. In the USA anyway.
We'll see what Canada gets. Jeff |
actually on the stereo part. The HU itself includes navi sure, but the wattage is lower than the FRS. Unless those numbers were incorrect (another thread, I'll have to find it)
Granted, that's nothing either way. I'm more or less just concerned about the material quality of each cloth and how long each would last. |
I much prefer the look of the FR-S and how it looks like the GT-86 (I am planning on a rebadge) I am not willing to spend over $1300 for nav and HID's. I know some folks think the FR-S is over priced, but personally given that an teeny iQ costs $16,000 with all the same Scion gadgets on it. Cars are just way more expensive than they used to be.
That being said I think both cars look fantastic and I am sure no matter what car someone chooses, FR-S/BRZ I think they will be a delight to drive and own for many many years. |
cancelled my FR-S order this morning and swapped sides to the BRZ. better value in my opinion.
|
FR-S looks better.
FR-S is simpler (don't need a tv screen in my sports car). FR-S is lighter (although somewhat trivial - it's worth more to me then fancy features). FR-S is tuned for over steer. $1200 for HIDs and navigation isn't what I call a screaming deal. |
I'm sticking with the FR-S. Main reason, the only Subaru dealership sucks here. What I'm hoping now is that most of Scion's accessories for the FR-S will match what the BRZ has standard, which I don't see that hard to do.

Agree on point #1 though. I'll install my gauges down the road as I get more serious. |

It is a pretty close comparison though for pricing. Jeff |
