It should be safe to leave the battery and controller untouched and just install intake and rom, then when I'm done with the base pull. Reinstall Rom and compressor right?

Yeah, that should do it. Just remember that you'll have to plug the hole where the Sound Generator used to plug into the intake tube.

In prep for my ESC installation (Removing Sound Generator, etc.), I simply used some thick plastic, folded it a few times, covered the hole and secured it with a worm gear hose clamp.

Yup we did it many times. I would flash the base map for the stock run for sure. Don't forget to let it idle for a couple minutes between flashes.

Yup, you don't need to remove the batteries and controllers.

When I get my car dyno'ed this summer, here is what I'm going to test:
  1. Stock inlet tube - Stock tune
  2. Stock inlet tube - Stage 2 UEL tune
  3. ESC Compressor - Stock tune (ESC unarmed)
  4. ESC Compressor - Stock tune (ESC armed, DR only)
  5. ESC Compressor - Stock tune (ESC armed, WOT switch activated)
  6. ESC Compressor - ESC tune (ESC unarmed)
  7. ESC Compressor - ESC tune (ESC armed, DR only)
  8. ESC Compressor - ESC tune (ESC armed, WOT switch activated)

I will be installing my Borla UEL this weekend. Impulse buy because of Memorial Day sale $566 shipped...

I would do the ESC runs first though and when those are done flash to stock and remove the ESC. Definitely let the car run for a few minutes after flashing because otherwise the car will be in low power mode and no fully utilize AVCS.

Question for putting the stock inlet pipe back in. What do you use to cover the opening where the sound generator tube used to connect to?

There are little caps that you can get at a hardware store or rubber plugs. Just measure the diameter before you go.

My sound tube isn't removed so I just install the stock intake.

Where did you run the wire if the sound tube is still in?

I don't know if you've seen it or not, but there is a little nipple you can cut off to run it into the driver's footwell from the engine bay. The only reason I know about it is because I used it in my OEM Audio+ installation.
