In this day and age, people expect more from their money, tis all. The fuel economy isn't that hot in comparison to other cars making more power, and said power isn't up to snuff as well for many. |

So.. what.. Are we seeing a trend where FR-S owners are going to say they have a car for "real enthusiasts" and BRZ owners are just wannabes? Because if we're reading into other people motivations for their choice to go BRZ, there are some that can be said about FR-S owners.
People buy what they want to buy. The point of commerce is that both parties come away with something they want more than what they have. Who cares why someone chose a BRZ over an FR-S, did YOU get what YOU wanted? Let's not start driving wedges already into a community so young. |

I'll admit I considered the BRZ yesterday, but in my opinion, the BRZ interior is only slightly better on the premium. I do love the silver dash! over all it's the same machine so I'm surprised to read all the negative comments about the FRS.

I'd totally drive a FRS if that's all I could afford.
I might of ordered the Premium if I was starting from scratch, but now that I have the Limited ordered, I think I will stick with that trim. Too afraid of losing my spot altogether. It's a guessing game anyway when it will come in, I will be saving up like $1000+ a month till it comes in, then we will see if I have enough, just what the bank will do for me. I think I might be able to get the Limited. I just don't know for sure is all. Right now? No. 7 months from now? Why not. And I do want the Limited trim, but I might of saved that money and bought the Premium, then upgraded to after market heated high end seats or something. If I go by just money, I should be looking at the FRS, but I can stretch. Just need a few more months. Perhaps a second job. More roman noodles. That said, even if the amenities and prices where the same, I like the look of the BRZ more. And I really love that WR Blue Pearl color. Last edited by NeoDiNardo; 04-06-2012 at 12:09 PM. |

Fanboy much? Half-decent trim of EVO X is over 40k, and in general it's a nose-heavy pig, that understeers like there's no tomorrow, when pushed.

I got a BRZ for my DD. It all depends on what kind of enthusiast. Track enthusiast? The 'REAL' track enthusiasts would buy one of these cars, gut it clean, and make a pure track car. How many of you FR-S purchasers are doing that? I just graduated. I can't afford that. What I CAN afford though is a 3000 dollar miata, gut the shit out of it, slam it, and track it. |

I've never bought a car from Mastro Tampa but have dealt with their employees a bit and I've never had a negative experience. I definately can't speak for the sanford location but I'd like to know his experience so I can inform Sean about the potential issue.

I'm not sure most are hating on the FR-S so much but some are hating on the Scion brand, which I don't really understand in general but do understand for this car as the Toyota nameplate would tie in with the car's history. I find that there are at least as many anti-BRZ posts as anti-fr-s/scion posts so I'm not sure which group is worse. I just explain why I've made the purchase decision I have. No hate for either car.

The biggest reason I like Subaru better besides trim levels is that I could trade a BRZ directly to a Subaru Dealer in 5 years and get a STI or WRX or what not, where as Scion has nothing else I could possibly want. The cool starry badge is just a personal warm fuzzy. Doesn't mean a dam thing. Unless it affects insurance.

It's the scion image that just steers me away. If it came to America as a Toyota offering different trim levels, it would've been a hard decision against the brz.

Haha yep... I guessed $27.499 for the trim I wanted and look at that. $4 off. Win!
