So, cvjoint returned his kit? No longer has one? So... is no longer an owner... so... wrong thread?

If you were considering buying this kit, wouldn't you want to know about issues related to it's purchase and fulfillment? Namely, not receiving parts? It's the first step to ownership, it seems right in line with what this thread is about - owner experiences. And he is an owner.
Service wise I think they're great. They tore open packaged boxes for me to double check I got everything. (Although I stated I was a pickup, but suppose that may make no difference) I've yet to install the kit but it seems like I have everything, minus the proper coupler. They've been communicative since then. So I'd say that service is good, but inventory/packing might be a tad suspect for customers. Otherwise if those things don't bother you (for many it doesn't) then I'd say it's a good kit. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk

Just waiting to hear back from @fteightysix but you can add me to the list very soon.
Incase no one wants to catch up on all these pages, here is the helpful information I got from all of it. 1. This is probably the most daily driver friendly kit out there. Being able to drive on this kit without the supercharger working and just going N/A is a HUGE plus and piece of mind if my belt ever were to snap. First thing that came to mind is having the ability to flash the ECU back to an N/A rom and making it back in one piece, worst case scenario. 2. Customer service. Kraftwerks works with every person that purchased, some with positive experiences, others some negative due to lead times on parts, etc. Regardless, they have not been ditched. They stand behind their products which is a huge plus. 3. Some of these kits have been missing parts. These systems are all boxed up by hand, and QC might miss a few things. PLEASE CHECK OFF ALL YOUR PARTS ON THE LIST BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL AND CONTACT KRAFTWERKS IF YOU ARE MISSING ANY. 4. Cogged pullies are supposed to be standard in the kits going forward, but some vendors may still have smooth idler pulley models boxed up. This makes it so it is quieter while idle, but still makes noise when you get on it above 3k rpm. Smooth idler pullies are just much louder. You can get these cogged pullies from Kraftwerks directly as a free upgrade by simply contacting them after your purchase. 5. Relatively easy install. Clearance with the bolt next to the oil filter is close, but not rubbing. The hardest part of the install is probably the oil reservoir for the Rotrex Supercharger as per @digital_assassin. The Forester DIT Oil Cooler has been confirmed to fit with this system. Kraftwerks is still working on an oil cooler that has not been released yet. Even as a daily driver, I'm most likely going to have an oil cooler considering I have hot Texas summers and I can have a tendency to floor it around slow drivers or someone cutting me off. 6. CLAMP YOUR HOSES UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. There are 4 9/16" hose clamps needed to reinforce these hoses under boost. There have been a few posts of these hoses popping off from higher boost 11+ PSI. 7. Catch Cans. I researched these A LOT, and saw different opinions on several ones. I suggest doing your research and using a catch can solution you feel works best to protect your engine best while under boost. I haven't made my decision on one yet, but I am a lot closer than I was. Probably missed a few things, but I want to thank the dedicated owners for providing real life situations and issues they ran into which we all know there are issues with anything FI. All of this helped me decide this is the kit I will be going with. Last edited by FR-S Matt; 05-27-2014 at 11:24 PM. |

Well he might have the wrong forum and possibly created an account just to post that. That's just poor etiquette. But let's say he was an frs or brz owner, it's not like his posts would no longer be valid simply because he returned the kit. He would have been an owner reporting on his experience. Returning a kit doesn't negate that.

I popped off a vacuum hose on track with stock pulley. This was also after a 80-100 autox runs this spring. Was probably working its way off for awhile.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61589 if you're referring to the gap before the 2500 rpm I think it's because mine starts WOT at 2k RPM whereas the OEM baseline starts after 2500 RPM for the reference car feels stronger everywhere in the power band, take a look at this dyno graph posted by KW ..I think it's a better comparison
