It isn't fully riced until you do the full on Uncle Ben's; the "shocker" sticker as well as a long list of tuner parts manufacturer brand logos down one side of the back window or fender. Here in Toronto we refer to it as the "Markham" treatment lololol.

If you guys think its bad now wait until the car trickles down further to the secon, third and fourth owners. Then we will be in Civic territory, fart can exhausts, cut springs and more stickers than you can shake a stick at.The last straw will be the Kleenex holder with the gilded gold sword on it and the crown shaped airfreshener. At that point the cheap tints will have turned purple. Lol.

Somebody is being a little ridiculous. There are more Honda Civic's sold in a month than Toyobaru's in a year.

I'm super scared for this point because of what is currently already happening.

Brah, I'm not talking about sales or anything. Would you rather I have said Scion tC? Because those are almost riced out as much as Civics.

I knew it was going to be a popular car. I wouldn't relate it to the civic, but I am fine with the idea that it could very well be the next civic of the tuner crowd. "Rice" starts with the owner, not the car; any owner can manage to rice out a car regardless of make and model.

Like I said, I don't mind, because it provides a larger aftermarket selection of parts. It will make sourcing OEM and Aftermarket parts much easier in the future.

It is simply a negative aspect of widespread appeal and success. I just hope other manufacturers follow suit and bring some fun and affordable cars to the table.

And to those of you who say "don't care what others say, do what you like", do you appreciate that your car's value is dwindling and your insurance is going up because people don't know how to drive these? When they first came out, the BRZ and FR-S were looked at as great looking, sweet cars by most people. They are still great to the people that appreciate what they do. It just sucks that the general public is starting to see these cars as loud, obnoxious, riced out cars.

The more I go through Facebook groups and see what people are doing to their cars, it just annoys the shit out of me. Sorry if you think I shouldn't get annoyed by it, but the more and more people do that shit, the more that these cars get lumped into the "rice" group.

/rant
i agreed with you 100%. but in the end people are going to do whatever they want. so be it, can't stop them, so why stress yourself out about it?

down here its mostly young people and former Honda owners that have upgraded from (civic, RSX, CRX, and ect) that are trashing out these cars.

I'll quote you're OP and add emphasis:

My mistake, I now understand that the places you focus your attention display a high number of modified Toyobaru's that displease your sensibilities and you believe that a high percentage of owners 'rice' their cars, carry on.

People can do what they want with a car. But with this car if you want faster I say buy a different car. How about we let this important person tell it like it is.
Chief Engineer of the Toyota 86....

Points of interest new to me

-a rotary engine was part of the design

-suspension was designed to "roll" with a heavy feel in the front

-adding a turbo or bigger engine would increase HP thus messing up the designed weight distribution (paraphrased)

NSX

RX7
