Not buying now anyway, my plan is to grab an STI BRZ when that comes out.

That is a shame. With a car like this, you should drive it 7 days a week instead of a few times a month. Your car will love you if you spent more time with it instead of beat it up a coupe of days each month and then leaving it alone in the garage.

I think this is the total difference between the FRS and BRZ premium since people are only mentioning the NAV and HIDs. Please add if there are differences I'm forgetting.

-NAV
-HIDs with LED sorta halo(just overall nicer looking headlights)
-Better quality seating material
-LED DRL strip
-Trunk lid liner

Something else to consider. After a year or two of data collecting, insurance will most likely be lower for the BRZ.

Some minor differences (nothing that necessarily costs any more or less, just different)
-Different fender vent cover
-FR-S has red seat accents, BRZ does not
-BRZ has silver trim panel on dash, FR-S has black plastic carbon-look
-BRZ has ebrake handle cover
-BRZ has all black gauges with white/red lettering, FR-S has black-on-white for the tach
-BRZ has auto on/off headlights

Also might be worth looking at what's the same (the big stuff anyways):
-All mechanical bits
-All body panels except the front bumper
-Wheels and tires
-Steering wheel, pedals, shifter
-HVAC controls, window controls
-Number and size of speakers

I read somewhere that the tach does this on the Scion as well. This doesn't matter at all when I'm zipping around the track. All I care about at start up is "does the engine start?"

One thing that was brought up in the other thread - the Scion comes with a 2 year free maintenance program included in the price. So the price difference is actually a little bit more then $1300.

Exactly. While this may not be a huge thing, it's non-zero. Someone should go through the manual and see what maintenance you'd likely have in the first 2 years that would be covered, and come up with an approximate value.

How much is 4 oil changes and rotating your tires 2-3 times worth for you?

4 synthetic oil changes alone could easily add up to close to $300-400, seems like a non-trivial amount of money to be discounting from the price of the car.

Then you are going to one expensive ass dealership/mechanic. Shouldn't run you more than $60-70 if you want someone else to do it. And you quoted the value of it as $700 in the other thread. I think someone is overvaluing this.

The figure was actually "closer to 2000". And 70$ an oil change, 4 oil changes = 300$. So I consider 1600 "closer to 2000" then 1300
