Scions Pure Price is for current MY cars. Wait a bit for the 2015's to come out and the 2014 will drop slightly. Any cars that have been sitting on the lot for some time will always be nogotiable.

Key thing! Never disclose what you're comfortable paying. Giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you can afford this car and you have a stable career, all they need is your credit score (they can work with an estimate), how long you want your payment to be (3,4,5,6 years etc), and how much you want to put down and they should be able to give you a really close estimate on what you should be paying. Keep in mind if your credit score is significantly lower than your estimate, it will affect the outcome. If any dealership gives you a hard time with numbers, just go to another. I gave my dealership those 3 things over email and I got all the numbers I wanted before they even had my full name and cell phone number. Didn't want them harassing me so I made sure I got what I wanted before I gave them more info.

If you are considering the BRZ and you're not confident in your negotiating skills, USE COSTCO. People don't realize they have an PRENEGOTIATED price for everything including accessories/warranty that is UNDER the sticker value. My roommate got his 2014 WRX hatch for $200 under the sticker price and they didn't even check to confirm if he was a Costco member. Last time I checked, Costco didn't have a deal with Scion.

Also keep in mind all the sticker numbers you see are without TTL. Not sure how Florida is, but out here in CA, I'd say it's about 8-10% more for TTL.

Lol i noticed I trailed off OP question but OTD price varies depending on sticker price/negotiating skills/region.

Edit: most of the screaming deals some people brag about are either a car that's sat a long time, has high miles from test drives or the purchaser is buddy buddy with a salesman/manager/owner of a dealership.

Agree. Only time I've seen near 2300 off sticker is on the BRZs or on left over 2013s, and that always includes the finance "bonus cash" deals through Scion. I will say, if you want a really damn impressive price on a BRZ talk to HeubergerMotors. Clint impressed the hell out of me with his deals.

If you read the link I posted, "Pure Price" is NOT the same thing as "sticker price" Pure Price is the price advertised by the dealer.

It could be sticker price, it could be less, or it could be more.

Aaaah. I bought a brand new 2014 brZ limited AT two weeks ago, it had just came from the port and I claimed it. I got $2000 off sticker price with barely any haggling.

That makes sense for a BRZ. In some respects, if you can swing an extra grand it almost makes more sense to get a BRZ than the FRS because of the stupid pure price. Unless you can get a last model year deal. The BRZ has haggling room, Scion dealers don't seem to do any deals.

2014 BRZ limited 27, 300 two weeks ago in Temecula California... Not a screaming deal but I kinda get irritated splitting hairs and probably don't counter as far as I should.

It's all in your negotiating skills! If you are a poor or novice negotiator, they will tell you the price is lower than msrp but make it up on a poor trade value. There was a Mazda dealer around my town who sold tons of extended warranties on their cars and then went out of business and didn't return $. Sure you paid less, but they made it up with their fake warranties.

Do your research! Find the real value of your trade, check dealer ratings, and practice your negotiating skills. THEN, you can go try to get a good deal.

You 'merkins are funny. I just paid around $39k for a GT86 in the UK. 23.5K GBP!

Next you'll be complaining that "gas" costs too much. What is it now? $4 a gallon? UK price ATM is around £1.30 a litre or $2.19 a litre or $8.29 per US gallon.

How much does a college education cost? A life saving surgery? A train ride into the city? What's the minimum wage?

Comparing costs between countries is like saying how much better your meat pie is than my apple pie.

Not until you add in the money saved on health care and other benefits. Might balance out.
