OTD and monthly payment

I'm from Socal and interested in 2014 Limited WBR color. What's a good price for Auto and Manual? Is Manual hard to learn for girls? I'm a fast learner though. Also, how much do you guys pay monthly?
Thanks a bunch.

Manual isn't hard to learn for anyone, but it does take time to perfect. I still remember my first day out in a manual as a young lad, some jerks were upset I was going too slow and eventually passed, giving me the finger and yelling "learn how to drive..." It takes more finesse by far to get smooth vs an auto, where you can get away with just mashing the throttle.

I can't answer on monthly cost I pay (paid cash - one benefit of being old-ish,) but I paid invoice (if you count the extra pkg, I paid below) - which is $27k on a base Limited MT (they had stuck the #2A package on the car, which raises the base price officially... I ignored that.) Negotiate price, forget about how you're paying (it's easy for the price to go crazy high when they insist on negotiating the monthly cost.) If we take the $27k invoice, subtract a down payment (say, $3k?) and run it through any of the available online calculators, you can see just how much you'll pay per month. A 3 year loan at the available (with proper good credit) 0.9% APR is $675/mo on $24k.

Good luck.

Price is hard to name. Everyone pays differently. Mine is Alabama was $29,xxx. I put around $8000 down. My APR is 1.84% directly through Subaru and I pay, well payments are $384. I pay a bit more than that per month.

Manual has nothing to do with male/female I learned how to drive manual on this car. I hated it for a week, but then I learned and I absolutely love this car. I don't even think about it being a manual now.

I paid around 26,XXX and traded in car worth 8,000$ and put down 4,000$. APR 4.25 with 267$ monthly payments.

As like him I also learned how to drive manual on this car. I kept thinking to myself why did I get a manual and now I'm thinking I'm so glad I did. The best way to learn how to drive a manual is to own one. That way your kinda forced to. Goodluck!

That's a good price you got. Wonder if it's still valid? I can fly over lol.

Thanks everyone for answering. I'm thinking of putting down $4k with 5 years payments. I'll request the quotes and let you guys know.

I bought it 3 months ago and it was a 2013 so I had more room based on it was an older model. Scion is pretty set on price as I have been told. So because it was a 13 the asking price online was 24k plus all my taxes and everything it came out to around 26.

When I learned how to drive, I had a standard to learn on. What my Dad told me was to pull the car on the street in front of our house. Pull forward a little bit until the clutch pedal is all the way out and then stop. Put it in reverse and do the same thing in reverse. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Our street had about one car on it every 30 minutes so it was easy to do. You could do the same thing in an empty mall parking lot. The tough part of a manual transmission is pulling out. Changing gears once you are moving is easy. As someone mentioned, it does take a little bit of time to be smooth at it. Another tip is don't think about it. The more you worry, the more rougher the pull out will be.

Wow. I've never seen anyone sexist against themselves...

You're asking about how much we pay monthly, but you need to figure out how much you can afford monthly. Don't just focus on the monthly payment though because that's a dealership ploy to distract you from the overall price. Don't over pay on the total price just because the monthly payment is within your budget.

A local-ish dealer had the Limited advertised at $26,300 - with the differences in extra packages, I essentially got this price... Be willing to walk. They're not moving these fast enough for their liking.

Yep - these things, especially in climates where they can't or won't be driven for a good chunk of the year, seem to sit on dealer lots. That's not what they like.

Talk to Clint at Heuberger if you end up with an AT and could enjoy a drive back home I guess. That'd be interesting! I paid about $26.8, but leased mine and put my first month and documentation fees. Pay $410/month with taxes and all for my limited 6mt, but this is the first big thing in my name so I didn't get the best money factors. Do your research, stick to your guns and don't be afraid to make it a drawn out process. They'll usually play right about now (Memorial day, end of month) anyway, but unless the car is a necessity don't be afraid to take your time.

For learning stick, you'll get the hang of it within like 5 days. Conceptually it isn't difficulty, but remaining calm throughout is really the biggest thing. I've had the car for a month, but still panic if I need to hill start and some douche is up my ass. I daily drive my BRZ, and have put 2k on the car in a month. It is super rewarding learning to connect with the car. Read and worship the learning stick thread on this subforum as well!
