Question about payment
would the only way to pay MSRP ($24,955) without any dealer markups, be to order one online and have it delivered to a dealership??
EDIT: so lemme correct the title. Not payment, but price. |

A Scion dealer should be charging MSRP + any port options. However some of them are doing "Market Adjustments" and adding non-standard options and thus raising the price.
You should expect to pay MSRP + port options + tax, title, tags, and whatever your dealer DOC fee is. If the dealer wants more than this walk away. |

There may be other forms of payment accepted if you're willing to stoop to certain things.

I bought mine with dealer add-ons: leather interior (my skin will hate me in this heat..), 18" wheels and tires to match, tinted windows, and the clear bra. I figured I was gonna tint my windows eventually and I didn't quite like the stock wheels, so they're basically doing the work for me. The total MSRP came out to be ~31k.

Yep, at least that's how it's supposed to be with "Scion Pure Pricing." As I understand it though, you need to figure out which dealerships are actually GETTING any FR-Ss and then order one through them. Wait times depend on color/transmission.

I was in a similar boat to you, I wanted a bone-stock, no-options UltraMarine 6MT. In the end, I ordered one and it was delivered ~1.5 months later. As for cost, it will be MSRP + Delivery fee + Dealer prep fee + TTL. It really depends on your state taxes and such but I was able to procure mine for about $26K out-the-door. |

Go to www.autotrader.com and look for FR-S's in your area (or further out if you want/need to). See who has what for what price. If you are flexible on color and transmission, you should be able to have one within a week or so at MSRP.
If you're in the midwest, I've seen a few of them sitting on lots for well over a week in the STL area. It worked for me. |

A local Scion dealer told me that if you put an early deposit on a car that's not yet at the port, they can request that the car is sent over without any of the additional add-ons. In the end though, they wanted $700 in dealer fees that they wouldn't budge on (another BS "fee" that you shouldn't pay btw), so I drove to Wisconsin and back to pick up my BRZ for less than the cost of their dealer fees.
