Oil-less turbos are not common at all. The bulk of turbos are oil/water cooled (almost every major manufacturer like Garrett, Precision, etc.).

You guys realize subaru/toyota engineers test their engines to extremes right. Like holding redline for hours on end. There smart people and yes they are smarter than you. Now stop worrying and go drive your car.

I know I will be adding a oil cooler before I track my car again. Both my supercharged BRZ and a N/A FR-S were seeing 284*f oil temps at the track last weekend with 100* ambient temps.

Everything becomes more common the longer it's on the market. However this topic of if they are currently the most used has nothing to do with the relevant point that not everything is the same design and there are no correct blanket statements because of such an assumption.

Oil-Less would be considered newer and more expensive tech but it has made a lot of progress since it was released. Just like JB and BB. So arguing one of the newer designs to the market is not popular enough yet is really not an argument to lend credit to the idea's that all turbo's must have an oil cooler so they don't cook the oil inside them.

When they are common enough to be included from a bigger company's bolt on kit they are common enough to be a part of the equation.

Just my opinion from talking to a lot of people behind the scenes in the industry, this won't be any time soon, if at all. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it be the standard but it'll be awhile before that happens.

well I don't think it's because of the size but because of the air trapped in my coolant system after my KoyoRadiator as I mentioned earlier

Some people with the OEM oil cooler only saw 230-240F with OEM radiator, once I fix that I should be able to see even less than that since I have upgraded radiator

OEM oil cooler definitely works but of course there are possibly other options that do better job on eliminating excessive heat. However, since I combined my OEM oil cooler with bigger radiator I figured it should do even better job than the OEM radiator..

btw, my mistake Model Citizen was able to see low 230 s with OEM radiator and OEM oil cooler after KW kit
