So it seems shifts are tougher and sloppier than stock/kart boy from what i read here. Would this plus mtec be perfect fit /solution?

Shifts are tougher, but will not be as tough as Kartboy. This has to do with the longer shift lever. The shifts are also not sloppy in the slightest. If you've torqued everything down properly, there is virtually no play in the shifter at all with everything else being stock. Not sure if the Mtec would make a big difference, maybe someone who has both can chime in.

I have the kartboy short shifter, rear bushing & Mtec springs. The shifter is not at all tough or sloppy to shift with even with a very lightweight knob.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

I just received the quick shifter today.

Reading through the instruction manual: are the deep sockets and 8" extension necessary to reach the nuts?

Purty sure my 5th gear issues are a result of the rear stay bushing. Took it out and suddenly (while there's more slop of course) I no longer have resistance going into 5th at speed.

You will not be able to unbolt the rear stay bushing without the extensions. A flex socket and extension would be your best bet - there's just not much room in there when coming in from underneath.

Is this good enough or should I use Loctite on that adapter bolt?

Any other bolts I should be using Loctite on?

Blue loctite for sure. I actually was trying to put the adapter on backwards at first (who needs directions, anyways?) By the time I was putting everything together properly, I had no loctite no the end of the bolt. I figured it would be fine. After about 500 miles, I noticed the shifter slop was back from the video I posted a few pages ago. Jacked the car up and tightened it in a parking lot with an allen key that didn't fit right I bought from a local autozone since I was about 2 hours from home with no tools and no garage. Despite that, it kept loosening up that weekend, but the bolt never came completely off. Threw the car on the lift when I got home and covered that bolt with blue loctite. I was at my sister's graduation and it was pretty embarassing having to jack up my car and get under it, considering it hasn't even had its first oil change yet. Seems to be holding just fine now, though, as expected.

I haven't tried a Kartboy, but I would think that due to the shorter shifter height, it would require more effort than stock/TRD quickshift. I'm thinking about moment arms, but it may actually not be that simple because the pivot point is not the same on the two shifters, so who knows?

It does require some additional effort, but when you're actually driving you don't really feel it. You just do it and the gears go through the gate with more positive "click".

I posted this last week but got no responses. Perhaps some of you can go 45mph or so and slam the brake pedal as hard as you can (to simulate track day or emergency stop) while holding or touching the shifter to see if the drive shaft rubs the shifter rod.
------------------------
Anyone else have any issues under very hard braking and large speed bumps with the bottom of the shifter hitting the stock drive shaft? I noticed it when I was auto crossing and also when going 30 over those long wide speed bumps. I'l a little worried. I wonder if Perrin engine mounts would stiffen it up enough where it doesn't flex to hit the shaft...

I'm definitely rubbing on the stock drive shaft when hard braking in 2nd but not in 3rd. This doesn't bode well for track days.

Are you guys that are rubbing have stock driveline mounts, as in engine, transmission, or differential mounts?

I have Cusco engine, Kartboy trans, and Whiteline diff mounts, and occasionally get knocking on speed bumps with the stock driveshaft. Haven't noticed it on track though.
