It's mentioned in a few of those press release blog sites and I've seen a few photos floating around, but here's the one I was able to find in a quick search.

It's not explicitly called out as "Sachs" in the official press release, but it's no secret that Tada-san has been testing a new suspension produced by Sachs for a couple years now. A quick google search will yield a decent amount of information related to it.

It looks like the Sachs dampers are only a part of #3 with the BBS 18" wheels...perhaps a special BBS or TRD upgrade/trim that will only be available in Japan. I really doubt we'll get the Sachs dampers in the US. US always get's the shitty/missing parts, and those Sachs dampers will be just another "JDM" part in the future that we US people have to buy on these forums I bet lol.

According to Toyota, the dampers are not an "upgrade" item, as all Toyota 86 (sold in the EU, Aus, and Asian markets) will be fitted with them from the factory. However, I have not seen/heard/read any confirmation that they will be on the FR-S or BRZ models.

Personally, I'm very intrigued. I would like try them. I thought the stock suspension was very good, and these are supposed to be even better.

While I don't agree with Toyota's decision to neuter the FRS' suspension, I understand the need for them to cover their asses. It was bound to happen. Remember the AP1 S2000?
S2000's were pretty aggressive with lift oversteer, which led to a lot of spins (and crashes). I don't find that the FR-S much like that at all.

I have not seen/heard/read any confirmation for the BRZ either. However, even a non-adjustable Sachs suspension is considered to be a much more expensive comparing to the older solution. It would be strange to include it only on the Toyota 86, given that the other models have similar price range.
