EJ series is lighter, lower, shorter, way bigger bore, can sound kinda funny sometimes. Teensy bit newer.

(Care to clarify the question?)

Then you don't understand the concept of this car. Go buy a Z, Genesis, or Mustang.

So is that a challenge toward any modern Boxer engine? Then I have tons to choose from both Subie, Saab, Porsche. Hm... which one to choose from.

3sge is about 194bhp w/ vvt-i but its 293lbs with a good & balance modification I seen them up to 230hp, but a the tom's supra JGTC powered by a 3sgte 2.2 liter made 475whp

EJ20 twin cam is about 190bhp but less weight and low center of gravity 269lbs, I've seen EJ205 NA that made 220hp, A EJ20R (Japanese) is rated 276bhp.

Are you wanting to compare to the motor in your 2? Cause that one is garbage.

3S > Any EJ,

Stock NA and ability to make power under boost. However, the 3S hasn't been truly developed for nearly half a decade, has an old iron block and the EJ is vastly superior in terms of size and packaging, with a slight weight advantage.

More important in this application I'd say. Because of the height, it allows for the great design in the car as well.

3S can be thought of as 4/6ths of a 2JZ. Sort of.

I have an EJ22 in my daily Legacy. It's bone stock but still sounds a bit weird when I get on it. The other thing is when you open the hood it just looks weird. Apart from those it's pretty normal.
