I have the stockers and they break lose pretty easily in anything but perfect road conditions (hot, dry and clean)

You can tell they want to let go but they don't spin to redline.

Around a corner 1st and 2nd gear boost with break traction easily.

I don't have much of a problem with stock size Michelin Pilot Super Sports (on sale at Costco right now I might add...)

I have Falken 235's.
In the dry they are sticky as hell but in the wet... Forget about it. You better have traction control on. And even then you must be constantly aware that the rear can become the front at any time.

The other day the roads were wet so I went to and empty parking lot shut off all the controls and just had a blast drifting around.
After a little while I began to attract a crowd so I had to leave.

Can't wait for the next rainy day.

Dear everyone,
Firstly I would just like to say how awesome it is for all of you to be driving around in such an amazing car. I don't own one, have driven one, and understand why you all have one. I also understand also why you have all opted for an enhancement to the power and torque, and this particular method seems almost too perfectly matched for the application of this vehicle. Personally, I am super duper jealous and envious of everybody on here ;-) especially Gums (Aussie) and cannot wait until I can get mine. It's just a matter of time to accumulate funds. However I do have funds for something else. As I already have a car that could benefit from an extra increase in power and torque, I would like to purchase this kit and gladly put it on my current vehicle, untill I can get my hands on a nice new 2015 '86 GT manual! Why not? I must have this product! It is so awesome!
So in order to acquire said product, I thought I had better register with the forums and send Robftss a PM. It would appear he is getting swamped on his website with email, and as this forum being responsible in the ESC becoming what it is today it seems that this would be the appropriate channel anyways. Having followed this thread since late last year, the speed and development and also the dedication to the product (plus a great community) has been amazing.
Anywho I thought it would be best to 'touch base' with the community and say G'day.

Geeves

This is the same with my 245/40r17s. 2nd gear no clutch or e-brake at just 3,000 RPM.

We had a guy at Streets of Willow running one of these this weekend. Hoping he'll chime in here and let us know how it held up.

Got to watch him blast a bit down a couple of the straights, looks like it pulled pretty damn good.

That was @nlowell. From my understanding it held up really well except for the very end of the day when on the last couple laps he tripped the 2nd thermal sensor and that was in the crazy 100 degree heat.

How are the pilots compared to the stockers as far as grip and wet performance?

We don't usually get more that 5-8 significant snow days per year around here (winter '13-'14 was the every 20 year exception), so I don't really want to go snow tires all around. My options will be:

Either buy snow tires and some pretty sticky summer tires OR

Buy an all season and just not drive the BRZ when there's snow on the road.

I'm in SD so I can't comment on snow but the dry grip is amazing for a street tire with 300 tread wear. I had an instructor drive my car at Buttonwillow when the tires were fresh and he said "damn! These are street tires?!" as he flew around the corners.

They do appear to lose grip after being heat cycled through 6 track days but I'm still happy with them and will buy a new set when the next track season starts up in October.

The ESC worked well at the track. Loved the extra pull on the straights. I engaged it more than I though I would and towards the end it decided it was going to take a break and slowly recharge instead of giving me any boost. I've maxed out my cooling mods (unless I go water cooled) so now it's on to recharging mods.
