Just to get the aero wizards in an uproar, 9ff builds their own bodies with a lowered roof on their GT9 series cars, with all the work that entails. Apparently the OEM roofline was limiting them to 372 km/h, and they wanted to break 400.

funny, I took pics of one that an S2K guy (lol keeping it on topic sorta) wanted to buy, inspected it, etc. The owner was selling it because it sucked on track. Way too soft in his opinion. He kept one (he had three.. wtf?). I need to find those pics, this one had 900 miles or some crap on it.

Dude had a warehouse of cars so probably wasn't going to miss it much. It was in the middle of a real AC Cobra 427 and one of his Vette track cars in the garage at his house, down the street from Tiger Woods.

You'd think I'm making this shit up.. but.. sadly I'm not. Too bad I wasn't there on Tiger's accident night.. would have been awesome selling pics to media lol

Indeed. Wouldn't change a thing on it.

I'm not surprised at all; I used to moderate those guys on a different forum. Our meets were awesome, full of high end cars. And a wrx wagon.

Just found the pics. I mostly look specific pics the seller wanted so these suck as car pics but whatever...

And it had 373 miles on it.

You can see my old GPW S2K in the background... it had track pads on it.. it squealed like a pig pulling into his driveway and he laughed.

He was selling his CGT because it wasn't good enough on the track (which I call bullshit on) but he laughed because your S2K had track pads?

Was he actually a good driver, or did he do track days to show off his cars and how awesome he was? I would think someone who genuinely enjoyed track driving would have been interested, no matter what level of car was being tracked.

Should be interesting to see how this pans out for all you CGT fans, including myself.

You took the S2K part the wrong way. He laughed because he knew what they were and that I was DD'ing with noisy track pads, not because he viewed the S2K as inferior. We spent a good bit of time BS'ing about DEs and racing. He tracked and did SCCA W2W racing. I'm sure he's not the best driver in the world but he wasn't a novice either.

He's not the only owner who I've talked to that didn't like tracking them. At Sebring soft and low is a very bad combination for a track car. I've never tracked one so I can't say but the couple of owners that I've met have all tracked them once or twice and then moved back to GT3s and other options.
