How much was the deposit at Richmond Subaru? Was it refundable too? They wanted a grand for a preorder month ago...

They would like $1000. But they will settle for 500

@Shimmyshake Thanks for doing this for us, the more we know, the better.

@CoryUyede it would be awesome if we had you as our main guy since you seem to have the most experience. I didn't even put a deposit down with Subaru given their terrible track record with ripping Canadians on the STi.

The factors that made me put money down on a BRZ:
-I have a strong bond to both the Brand and the Dealer
(the Service department even helped me replace the engine AND Transmission in my 06 sti even when subaru Canada Initially Denied my claim, i ended up not paying a dime)
-If i finance another subaru, i Get a 1% discount on Finance, not a big deal really, but it essentially takes 700-800 off the price of the car
-I'm in love with WRB..haha lame i know.

Before I put down my deposit I was fully aware in my mind that the Subaru Canadian MSRP could easily be very disproportionate to the FR-S. Price is number one on my Pre-order Clause for getting my money back.

Basically i've made up my mind, now knowing the FRS is 25,990 , That the Base 'premium' BRZ will have to be 27,500 or Below for me. I can't justify spending more than that without feeling ripped off.

I wouldn't mind spearheading this operation. I also wouldn't mind if subaru took their fingers out of their butts and released some pricing.

I honestly think we would have the best chance all showing up at once. instead of having one person represent everyone else, especially not really knowing each other . I realize logistically for some people this is inconvenient.

We should start Giving each other more personal info so we can get more serious about this before it's too late.

I can get the ball rolling.

My email is Coryuyede@gmail.com

Maybe info we can Email each other:

1.)Legal name/Name pre-order is under
2.)Where you live (not a specific address but a city at least)
3.)Salesmen your Deposit is With
4.)Preorder Spot #
5.)Financing/Leasing/Cash Purchase and also Trade-ins?

Facebook works too. I'm under Cory Uyede, we can get a Group message thread going
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=624410478

let's get something going guys!

Subaru Canada might actually price the BRZ closed to the FRS, because if they have that 6k or some thing markup seem in the STi, they will sell very little if any BRZ. With the STI I can see that since it's competition is basically just the Evo, they can mark Ut up and still sell the car, but for the BRZ whichmechanically similar to the FRS they won't get away with it.

I'll send you an email with my contact info and stuff and also update the first post so people will know what's happening.

I should've put down a deposit for an FR-S the same time I did one for a BRZ but oh well. Here's hoping Subaru is reasonable or I guess I'll get a late season FR-S.

Deff agree that with one preson trying to represent all of us by himself is pretty tough

now if he was talking and had like 8 guys behind him there at least the pressure of numbers.

I'm at work currently but will send you my info later

@spikey_dogg Yeah, me, Mr Jay and some unknown person put our deposit down with Ahmed for the group buy. Just tell him when you put your deposit down.

It would definetly help if we were all there. Even better if we all co-ordinate and dress up like power rangers and when it comes to deal time we can morph into one mega negotiating machine!

But seriously guys. we should meet up. It could lead to future fr-s meets !

I think as soon as the first shipments come in we should all be at the dealer, regardless of whos car is actually on site. If you dont have a car there, we can still work out some deal and it can go on file for you when you DO get your car

^ Car show's on until the 8th. I haven't seen ether of the cars in person yet and it could be a good place to meet up.

Another consideration is would we want to form a local club and try to leverage club discounts for local shop rates/parts?

Cory, are you with VIC on NASIOC? Do Rocket Rally and Dale's give discounts to members or are they just sponsors and give early heads up on upcoming deals on their vendor threads?

That's funny. I'm actually going to the show on Friday morning to see the car in person. If any of you see a White guy (and my mexican friend) hassling the Scion rep to let me sit in the car, that will be me!

I'd also be down for a local club. Really looking forward to hitting the local Autocross scene as well.

Off topic, I have a friend who's got a real strong chance to be racing for Scion in the future. I'm just not allowed ot say anything right now otherwise I would give you the details. But let's just say, Scion is planning to race the FR-S in Canada very soon.

^ Anyone have experience with track days at Mission (rather than the Friday night street-legal drags)? I heard you have to join the Porsche club or something and go with them?
