I really appreciate (not) Subaru Australia's interest in the BRZ. By the posts on this thread and other threads they simply dont give a flying fuck.
All4the head up the arse should be there motto in the mean time. Disgrace such a wonderful car being is not in the true intrests of Subaru Australia. |

To be fair, diff company has different marketing strategy. Subaru Aus can't compete with Toyota Aus on marketing budget so maybe they want to focus their funds and efforts until it's much closer to launch for maximum effect.

its because they've lived and died by the all wheel drive platform for so long that this car is literally an insult to all their marketing for years, and they dont ant to slap themselves in the face with it.
i really think the only way the can market this car and not be red faced about it is by saying "evey rule has an exception and this is ours".... |

I've lived and died Subi AWD as well....however sometimes you have to take a chance and I think this is a chance worth taking for them. It really does bring a new direction to their current offering and obviously has created by far the most buzz in the industry since the wrx came stateside. Justin |

Ive owned many Subaru's over time. Both AWD and 2WD. The one i always come down to my favorite was my 1989 Subaru Leone GL Royale. No all wheel drive here, small underpowered 72kw 1.8 liter single over head cam fuel injected motor neither forced induced just the power to the front wheels on 13"s. The power it did have you used all of it all the time. Bit like the BRZ. Subaru did exist before 1994, the cars made before then are incredibly reliable cars, shitloads of fun to drive, and relatively small and light, not like the huge models now. Cars made now by Subaru a moving away from this every year. The new Liberty is huge, when i see one on the road i see it as morbidly obese compared to its few year older 4th generation sibling.
The BRZ is one of the truest Subaru's ever put on the production line. Small, lightweight, nimble, fun to drive, this all wheel drive philosophy burnt into Subaru image is full of shit, you only need to see the success of both the 86 and BRZ too understand this. |
